Stampin’ Up! Gleaming Detailed Bells Are Ringing

Well – it’s Sunday!  Yesterday was fun – if loooooooonnnggg! – and I met some new folks and made new friends!  And made some fun projects!

Today’s card is another Christmas card – sorry.  Can’t help it very much!

This one uses the new Bells Are Ringing and the bundled Detailed Bells Dies.  Plus the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and a touch of Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

I started with a Very Vanilla panel that I embossed in the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder – cut it down to size and matted it on Cherry Cobbler card stock for the card front.

Then I took a small piece of Pretty Peacock and Copper Foil paper from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP, matted it on Cherry Cobbler, and adhered it across the card front.

I used the Detailed Bells Dies to cut two solid bells from Pretty Peacock, one from Cherry Cobbler and one from Very Vanilla.  Then I cut three detailed bells from Copper Foil.  I adhered all the detailed die cuts to the solid cuts with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a couple of boughs from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements with Liquid Glue.  Then I added the two Pretty Peacock bells – the one on the left with Liquid Glue and the top bell with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler bells to the top of the panel in the same way.

The sentiment, from Bells Are Ringing, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla, and cut with a die from the Ornate Frames Die set.  I edged the die cut with my Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker and tucked it under the bells with Liquid Glue.

I stamped two bows from Bells Are Ringing in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Very Vanilla and colored them with my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends.  Then I fussy cut them.  There’s a die in the Detailed Bells Die set – but I wanted a no-border cut so…out came the Paper Snips!

I adhered the bows with Liquid Glue.  Then I added a Pretty Peacock Rhinestone from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack to the middle of that bow and to the sentiment panel.  I added Cherry Cobbler Jewels – from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels – to the Cherry Cobbler bow and the middles of the Copper Foil Detailed Bells.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Bells Are Ringing in Cherry Cobbler to a Very Vanilla Mat.  I stamped the large bell outline in Pretty Peaccok and added some “fill-in” images in Pretty Peacock and Cherry Cobbler.  The “ringer” is Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink.  I added a single Pretty Peacock Rhinestone by the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla Card Base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Bells Are Ringing bell on the front…

… and I added a little more of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such pretty paper, y’all!  I especially love the designs with the Pretty Peacock as the predominant color – it’s just perfect with the Copper Foil!  The Bells Are Ringing stamp set and bundled Detailed Bells is a super bundle for elegant Christmas or New Year’s cards!  I hope you like!

Okay.  Today is a pop-quiz.

Sorry I didn’t warn you it was coming.

Which, actually, is sort of the definition of a modern Major Gener….sorry…the very definition of a “pop” quiz! 😉

This is to test your investigative observation skills.

For each picture below…identify dog or cat.

100% is a passing grade.

This should be easy-peasy!

#1:

#2:

#3:

And….#4:

How many of you passed?? 😉

  1. Love your card and the design…another hit for SU with the DSP. What is it about their “little” feet that is so darn cute? and that was the most fun pop quiz I’ve ever had. See ya later.

    • stampsnlingers

Right?!? It’s one of their cutest parts!! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Pretty card! Love the metallic touches, fun design too! As for the paws…well, I’ll just call them all “critters”. 😉

  3. Faith Simpson

Yikes….I am a dog and cat person…..so I hate to say that one picture kinda stumped me….uhhhh…..won’t say which one…..

    • stampsnlingers

    Mary,
You’re killing me! I was totally gonna pass this bundle up but this card is stunning!!! I think I will own the whole catalog before the season is over.
Pop quiz – I think I’ve got it.

  5. And the winner is… Mary Deatherage. Gorgeous card Mary, I love it all! I’m with Amy, critter paws!

  6. Eunice Stoneman

Beautiful card Mary. I’ve just finished my Thanksgiving cards and three very special wedding and shower cards so now I can start on my Christmas ones. I think #1 and 4 are cat paws and #2 and 3 are dog paws.

    • stampsnlingers

Hey eunice – you are WAY ahead of me in the cards-for-holidays area – congrats! Good luck on Christmas cards! Check today’s post – I’ve given y’all the answer key! 😉

  7. Beautiful Christmas card! The metallics add such an elegant look. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
