Stampin’ Up! Wrapped In Plaid Pine Trees

Good morning and happy weekend!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned! 🙂

I’m headed down South a piece to a “Stamptember” event!  There’ll be a group of Demo’s from the SE – and some folk from SU! in attendance.  We’re going to stamp (duh!) and eat and probably kibbitz a lot!  I think it’ll be fun!  The downside, though, is that it’s enough of a “piece” there and back that I won’t be able to do a video tonight! 🙁  But…I’ll try to post pics of the event on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page throughout the day as I’m able! 🙂

My card for today is perfect if you’re trying to avoid inky fingers for a minute.  That’s right – no stamp was inked in the making of this card!  I used the wunnermus Wrapped In Plaid DSP, the Pine Tree Punch, a die from the Word Wishes die set and…some 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge.

I started with some Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce-dominant Wrapped in Plaid DSP and matted it on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.

I wrapped some Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim around the panel – using SNAIL and Glue Dots to secure it.  Over the top I added a length of the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon.  I made sure that the “Christmas” would be lined up to match the die cut sentiment.

I popped a Very Vanilla Stitched Shape circle over the top of the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Pine Tree Punch, I cut a Wrapped in Plaid DSP and Cherry Cobbler tree and adhered them onto the circle with Liquid Glue.

With the Word Wishes Die, I cut a Copper Foil and two Cherry Cobbler sentiments (“Merry”) and stacked them up with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the stack with Liquid Glue.

I used a piece of Silver Metallic Thread to tie a snug knot around the 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon just to the left of the adhered Stitched Shapes Circle.  I tied a bow with the ribbon and adhered it over the knot with a couple of Glue Dots.

When you tie the knot around the ribbon – it compresses it a smidge – so…the bow looks way more real when you stick it on! 😉

I added a couple of Star Designer Elements and the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted a piece of Very Vanilla on Cherry Cobbler with Liquid Glue and then wrapped another length of 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon around the panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a punched out Wrapped in Plaid DSP Pine Tree adhered with Liquid Glue…

…and a little more of the DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Easy peasy and not an inky finger in sight!  I LOVE the Wrapped in Plaid DSP so so much, don’t you?  And the Pine Tree Punch is going to become one of my favorite punches of all time.  Well.  It might already BE my favorite punch of all time!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other day I got a super-fun card in the mail.  It’s from one of my team members (and friend!) – and her daughter and some of her cohorts from Florida.

Apparently, the word is out that I sort of like to use a couple three Stampin’ Dimensionals on my cards.

Did you know that??  Had you heard that rumor?!?

Well – these ladies cracked me up – and, I suspect, cracked themselves up, too, while they were concocting it.  Check it out.

Finn loved it, too.

Colored Dimensional covers?!?!  Say….WHAAAAAAT!?!?

Where have these BEEN all my life, Mom!?!?

  1. Fantastic card! As much as I love stamping, sometimes not stamping is so much fun, especially with paper like that. Oh, those Florida gals made me laugh out loud! How creative!! (I’m assuming it was the gang from Florida!) … and Finn…that was a guffaw! Have fun at Stamptember and I’ll miss you tonight but I’ll see you tomorrow 🙂 Make sure there are no dimensionals stuck to you when you leave. It would be like the toilet paper thing on a shoe 😉

I double-checked for stray Dimensionals. And YES – it WAS the Sebring folks! 😉 Thanks, Karen! :)_

  2. What a pretty card Mary! Love the plaid paper and those tree punches are fantastic! Hahahahahaha…that card with the Dimensionals is just too funny and so perfect! I am sure that Finn loved the colored covers. 😉

He DID! Wondered why I never colored MINE for him!! Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

    Hi Mary,
Great card! I love the plaid dsp. The tree looks great punched from it.
Your friends are hysterical with the dimensional card. Yep, the word is out.

  4. Maryanne Willequer

Mary, your card is pretty! Having said that, I laughed myself silly over your ‘dimensional’ card your friend sent! What, you a dimensional fool? Always! Nice to have friends like the one who sent the card. Have a safe trip & enjoy your stamping day!
