Stampin’ Up! Hammered Metal So Many Stars Sneak Peek

Good morning, y’all!  Hope your long weekend is going well – guess what??  Tomorrow is a HOLIDAY!!  Whoo-hoo!  Whatever your plans – getting out-and-about or just….RESTING!…enjoy them!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your 3-Day weekend with me!  If not – but you’d like to watch the Memorex version, here ’tis on YouTube!

I pulled out the fantabulous new So Many Stars stamp set and bundled Stitched Stars Dies, the Itty Bitty Christmas set and the new Hammered Metal 3D Folder to make a 2019 Holiday Catalog sneak peek for you.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch challenge over at Fab Friday this week!

I started by embossing a Crumb Cake card stock panel in the new Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder (which will be available in the catalog on Wednesday, 4 Sept!).  Then I brushed the edges of the panel with the new Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink Pad.  I went over the top of that with the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad.  Then I matted the panel on Cherry Cobbler.

I used SNAIL to adhere two lengths of new Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon across the panel.

With the Stitched Stars Dies – I cut a bunch of stars and flourishes from Wrapped In Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP, Gold Glimmer Paper and Shaded Spruce card stock.

Using my Simply Scored tool, I scored the large plaid star and gently creased the score lines to create a 3-D star.

I used Liquid Glue on the various stars to adhere some together in stacks – and then adhered them to the card front.  The large plaid star is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped an Itty Bitty Christmas sentiment (also new in the 2019 Holiday Catalog) in Cherry Cobbler on a Crumb Cake strip.  Then I “dipped” each edge of the strip with the Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink Pad and popped it onto the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a Linen Thread double-loop bow with a couple of Glue Dots and then popped on three Star Designer Elements – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the So Many Stars set in Cherry Cobbler on a Very Vanilla panel.  Around and over it, I stamped the scattered stars image from the same set in Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink.  I also added a couple of the larger stars in the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the So Many Stars stars in Copper and Gold on the front…

…and I added more of the Wrapped in Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Itty Bitty Christmas and So Many Stars!  What a great complement to each other!  And, of course, no one can deny the spectacular-ness of the Wrapped In Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP!  You can get it all in only 3 more days – the 4th will be here before you know it! 🙂 I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Cerah – my older pony – has to wear…

…a grazing muzzle when she’s out during the day.  It’s a useful tool – helps her to not eat her body weight in grass every day.  Which is a very good thing for a Haflinger!

SHE hates the muzzle.  As one might easily imagine!

Finn – on the other hand is…fascinated by it.

He sniffs it – licks the outside – sticks his head in it…and licks the inside…

…and is quite disappointed when I am finally able to pull it away from him to hang it up for the night!

These are the things that just…make me wonder….why?  Why, Finn…what could the attraction possibly be?!?

  1. What a beautiful card! The colors are perfect and I love the plaid papers. As for Finn…that’s just nasty! But he eats other “things” leftover from the horses, so I suppose this is a little less nasty than that! 😉

Thanks, Amy! And yea – in the big scheme of things, it’s icky, but…could be WAY worse!! 🙂

Oh, Mary – this is fabulous! Love the plaid stars, and homey feel of your colors here – very country Christmas! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

Thanks for the kind words, Heather! I appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  3. I love stars for Christmas time (I have a whole separate tree decorated in only stars!) so your card really caught my eye! I love the mix of plaids and metallics and the big and little stars. Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
