Stampin’ Up! Toile Christmas Cardinal Sneak Peek

Good Monday!

And nope – NOT an oxymoron!  At least…not for me.

Sorry – that was mean!  But…Monday has no effect on me anymore!

Well – except if I need to go to Walmart, I know that one of these next five days is the day to do it!  Don’t have to go on the WEEKEND anymore!  Whoo-hoo!

My card today showcases some of the goodies you can get for a tidy little savings if you purchase my Bundle #6 Toile & Wreaths!  I used the Toile Christmas stamp set and bundled Christmas Cardinal, plus some gorgeous Toile Tidings DSP!  Take a look-see!

I took some design ideas from the samples in the 2019 Holiday Catalog and the layout is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started with some pretty Real Red Toile Tidings DSP, the same size as the card front, adhered with Liquid Glue.

The next layer is a Garden Green check design – also from the Toile Tidings DSP, matted on Real Red and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then there’s a smaller Very Vanilla panel, matted on Real Red and stuck on with Liquid Glue.

I stuck a piece of new Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon (2019 Holiday Catalog!) across the card front with a couple of Glue Dots.

On a seperate piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the branch and Cardinal images in Basic Gray Ink, using my Stamparatus.  I cut them with their dies in the Christmas Cardinal die set.

For the branch – I used Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color the branch and leaves.  I picked up Real Red ink from the lid of the ink pad with my Blender Pen to color the berries.  Then I adhered it over the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

I colored the Cardinal by using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to pick up Real Red ink from the lid and I used Mango Melody the same way for his beak.  I popped him onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Toile Christmas, is stamped in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and cut with the Christmas Cardinal die that matches it – then it’s adhered with Liquid Glue.

I cut a few leaves from Garden Green – with dies in the Christmas Cardinal set –  and adhered them with more Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a little bow of Garden Green 3/8″ Double-Stitched Ribbon (2019 Holiday Catalog!) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  I added a few Garden Green Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla panel.  I also added a branch – in Basic Gray, then colored it like I did on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Crumb Cake card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Toile Christmas branch on the front…

…and some more of the pretty Toile Tidings DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  How gorgeous is that die cut Toile Christmas Cardinal?  Especially all shimmery from the Clear Wink of Stella?!?  I love the coordinating Toile Tidings DSP, too!  I hope you like!
