Stampin’ Up! Cup of Christmas Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

So – each week, we all build our blog posts early and then provide the shortlinks for all the ladies in the hop (that’s how we make our list that y’all can use to hop around and see everyone’s projects!).  THIS week – and I’m going to use “newly-retired-and-sort-of-flailing-around” brain as my excuse – I looked at our color challenge and then promptly got dumb.  I decided to use a new stamp set, called Cup of Christmas (coming on 4 Sept!!), from the 2019 Holiday Catalog to give you a little Christmas sneak peek – even though the color challenge is about as NON-Christmas-y as you can get without a pretty big stretch.  Take a look-see and…you’ll start to see the difficulty I had! 🙂

…and the color challenge.

Doesn’t really SCREAM Christmas, huh? 😉

I also used a sketch from FabFriday for my layout.

I wanted to show y’all this fun stamp set – called Cup of Christmas – and it’s matching (bundled) Cup of Cheer Dies, which is why it was in my head, I guess.  Here’s what’s so fun – this set represents a new line that SU! is bringing to us – the “Reversibles”.  It has two stamps in it that you can…literally…stamp-clean-turn over on the acrylic block-and stamp the mirror image!  These four images were made using just two stamps in the Cup of Christmas set!  Cool beans, huh? 🙂

Okay – now let’s get to the card, shall we?

I took a Whisper White panel and embossed it in the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder, cut it down to size and matted it on Crushed Curry for the card front.

Next, I took a piece of Garden Green DSP from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP pack and matted it on Crushed Curry, too.

On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Cup of Christmas sentiment in Crushed Curry – then I cut it out with the left-handed die in the Cup of Cheer Die set (yes, there’s a left-handed and a right-handed die to cut those mirror images!!).  I also cut a solid peppermint candy cane.  From a piece of Blushing Bride – I cut the “striped” candy cane die.

After cutting the cup – I stamped it a few times with the poinsettia image from Cup of Christmas in Tuxedo Black – then I colored the flowers with my Blushing Bride and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers.  I added some doodle-dots around the flowers and sentiment with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker.

I adhered the two candy cane die cuts together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue – then I popped the cup over with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the “whipped cream” – I used new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (coming in the new catty on 4 Sept) and built up some puffy whipped cream.  Then I added a little of the new Shimmery Crystal Effects and sprinkled it with some new Ice Stampin’ Glitter (both also new and available on 4 Sept).

I adhered a short length of new Garden Green 3/8″ Double-Stitched Ribbon (availa 4 Sept) to the cup with Liquid Glue.  The embellishment is two Garden Green holly leaves cut with a die in the Cup of Cheer set – and another poinsettia in Blushing Bride – cut with its matching die.

I tied a little bow from some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the whole thing to the card front and it was done!

On the inside, on a Whisper White panel, I stamped a second Cup of Christmas sentiment in Crushed Curry and a line of little holly leaves in Garden Green.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Cup of Christmas holly on the front…

…and some Garden Green DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love this Cup of Christmas stamp set – those Reversibles are FUN!! – and the matching Cup of Cheer dies, don’t you?  I think they’re really going to be a heckuvan addition to your Christmas card tool box!  I hope you like!
