Stampin’ UP! Just Because Of You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I played with one of our wonderful Host-Exclusive stamp sets from the 2019 Occasions catalog – to make a card for Mother’s Day.  Just Because has perfect sentiments for the occasion – take a look-see:

Have you guessed our challenge colors for the hop?

And I borrowed some inspiration for the layout from this week’s sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.

And, since I love Tic-Tac-Toe challenges, I also played along at The Paper Players!  I went down the diagonal from left to right!

For the card front, I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.  Before I ran it thru, though, I used my Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and ran it across the DE-bossed side of the folder.  Then I carefully placed my card stock into the folder (making sure to not wiggle it around) and ran it thru the Big Shot.  That little bit of white adds just a touch of depth to the embossed panel.  Then I matted it on Lemon Lime Twist card stock using Liquid Glue.

The next layer is a piece of Grapefruit Grove card stock, embossed in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and cut with a Rectangle Stitched Framelits die.  I added a Colored Doily – turned white-side-up – with Liquid Glue, then popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the art/sentiment, I used my Stamparatus and the Marker-to-Rubber technique to add the image from Just Because to a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I used Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist Markers, coloring the individual elements.  The Stamparatus makes it easy to add ink to get to the level of color that you want cuz you can stamp in the exact same spot as many times as you need!!

I did a little coloring with my Blender Pens, picking up color from the lids of my Grapefruit Grove and Lemon Lime Twist ink pads.  I cut the image out with another Rectangle Stitched Framelits die and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the top and bottom – and Liquid Glue in the center.

I added a little bow in Grapefruit Grove Nature’s Twine – adhered with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I again used my Stamparatus and Stampin’ Write Markers to add a second image from Just Because to a Whisper White panel.  And I used Blender Pens to lightly color the image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into my Grapefruit Grove card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Just Because image on the front…

…and I added some Grapefruit Grove paper from the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Just Because stamp set – the line drawings are really perfect for doing the Marker-to-Rubber coloring technique, which is a great way to add some color and interest to your projects!  I hope you like!

Remember – this is a Host-Exclusive set, which means it can only be purchased with Stampin’ Rewards – which you earn with a workshop or individual order over $150!  And…if you’re loving Lemon Lime Twist as much as I am – you MIGHT want to get stocked up on Stampin’ Write Markers, refills and card stock now – the retiring list will be coming out soon and…LLT (and the rest of the 2017-2019 In Colors!) will be leaving us at the end of May! 🙁
