I am celebrating the Christmas season with today’s card – after all, Christmas celebrates a pretty big Birthday, don’t you think?! I used the Wishing You Well stamp set – and a sentiment from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set – to make a beautiful Christmas wreath! Take a look-see:
This one was just perfect for this week’s challenge over at As You See It!
I started with a piece of Festive Farmhouse DSP and matted it on some Basic Black for the card front.
My art work is a wreath that I built using the leaf-wreath image in the Wishing You Well stamp set. I followed the instructions of Dina Kowal over at SplitCoastStampers!
I didn’t have the wreath builder template that she used, but I DID have Squares Layering Framelits – so I made one of my own from a piece of Thick Card Stock – using the largest smooth-sided square die. Just cut out a square – then rotate the die 45 degrees and cut again!
I used Mossy Meadow and stamped the wreath 8 times – rotating my Very Vanilla card stock panel each time. Then I repeated the process, using the flowers image in Cherry Cobbler! Easy peasy! This series of photos shows how I did it – I used a small flower image to practice before I graduated to the wreath!
Once I had built the wreath, I inked the Merry Christmas from the big sentiment in the Farmhouse Christmas set in Cherry Cobbler. I used sticky notes to mask off the part of the sentiment I didn’t need. Then I stamped the sentiment in the corner of the panel.
Once the wreath was good and dry, I inked the pretty bow from Wishing You Well in Versamark Ink and then sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.
I matted the panel on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a small piece of Very Vanilla card stock, I heat embossed the bow twice in Gold. I fussy cut the two “loops” from one of the images and the “tails” from the other. Then I used Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add them atop the bow on the wreath for some dimension!
I added some Gold Metallic Pearls to the wreath – and one next to the sentiment – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added another Wishing You Well bow in heat embossed Gold and a Farmhouse Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Very Vanilla panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got two more gold-heat-embossed bows from Wishing You Well on the front…
…and a little more Festive Farmhouse DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The wreath in Wishing You Well is beautiful all by itself – but…I think it really POPS when it’s thickened up and made “bushy” with the wreath-stamping technique, don’t you? I hope you’ll give it a try – and we may do one some Sunday night soon! And that bow will forever be one of my favorite things! Hope you like!

OK, call me dumb, but I don’t get how you did that wreath. I have done the method shown on SCS (you should put your card on their gallery as it is prettier than any that are there!) and I don’t see how you did that using the wreath. Maybe a Sunday night video would be good, but I am going to try it and hope to be surprised by how EASY it is!
