Stampin’ Up! Cabled Bring on the Presents!

Good Monday, y’all!  Oxymoron aside, glad you’re here and hope you had a great long Thanksgiving weekend!  We’re on the short-slope into Christmas now, right?  It’ll be here in a blink.

If you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your holiday weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the Memorex version – here ’tis!

I used the Holiday Catalog Bring on the Presents Bundle, along with the super Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF to make a simple Christmas card.  Take a look-see:

My layout – and color scheme! – is from this week’s Fusion Challenge – I played with both sides!

And I played along with the Just Us Girls challenge, too! 🙂

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF.  As usual, I started with a too-large panel, then embossed it and cut it to size.  On this one, I stuck the card stock into the TIEF on a bit of an angle – to mimic the draped afghan in the challenge photo!  Necessary?  Maybe not – but…kinda fun!

Then I matted the panel on a Poppy Parade mat with Liquid Glue for the card front.

I used the ribbon dies in the All the Presents Thinlits to cut two strips from some Sparkle Glimmer Paper, then I adhered them to a strip of Poppy Parade and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With the Night Owl Thinlits, I cut four little pine boughs in Garden Green and attached them with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, from Bring on the Presents, is stamped in Garden Green on Whisper White.  I added the label image in Poppy Parade and then cut it with the die in All The Presents.  I stuck it to the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

For the bows, I cut one large bow from the Sparkle Glimmer Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the bow and the tails images in Poppy Parade and cut them with their matching dies.  Then I adhered the tails with Liquid Glue and popped the bow part on with a Stampin’ Dimensional – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I first stamped the bow and tails images in Poppy Parade on a Whisper White panel.  I separated them slightly – to accommodate a strip of Whisper White on which I stamped a second Bring On The Presents sentiment in Garden Green.  I snipped banner ends and edged it with my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker, then I popped it onto the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and then into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added a couple of Poppy Parade bows…

…and then I used a little Garden Green paper from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP for the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Cable Knit afghan meets sparkly Christmas present from the Bring on the Presents bundle!  And it even got a few pine boughs (which wish I had the energy to do on “real” presents!!) thanks to the Night Owl Thinlits.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I’m sure I’ve mentioned that we live on 30 acres just south of Atlanta, yes?  Well – of that 30 acres, about 18 or so are in woods.  Mixed hard wood and pine trees.  So, Fall is pretty nice.  The trees put on quite a show.

With all those trees, it wouldn’t seem that any particular one would stand out – but…I have a few favorites.  Some for what they do in the Fall.  Some – like the Dogwoods – for the display they put on in the Spring.

One tree, in particular, is right near the top of my list.  It’s a Japanese Maple just outside our bedroom window.  It always takes it’s time changing from its summer dress to its Fall finery.  But when it does get there…

..it’s simply gorgeous.  Especially on a cloudy, foggy day – it just…glows.

But – that’s not even as good as it gets.

Check how great it looks when you add…

…the bestest dog ever!

  1. Such a cute card! Love the cable knit background. And such a cute dog too…so well behaved sitting perfectly under the tree. 🙂

  2. The video is not blurry at all for me today. Gene said we were having problems with our internet being too slow. I love the card. When we lived up north, we had a Japanese Maple outside our kitchen window. It truly does put on a show. Bet you’re glad you don’t have to rake up 30 acres of leaves. I’m sure Finn would help you though. What a sweet pose by him.

    • stampsnlingers

I thought your internet might be the issue – glad that it’s resolved this morning! Yes – VERY glad we don’t even TRY to rake all those leaves – with or without the Man’s help! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Just gorgeous. Both the tree and the dog!

  4. Kate

The trees do it for us in many ways…in every season.
And w/o the pups we’d be more than bereft.
Card is lovely. I would choose another message inside, but to each his own. 😃

  5. Can I write a book here? So many thoughts….first, I missed the live video, dang it! Was busy getting my calendar order finished. When I watched it, I really wanted to join in the conversation!
I can’t have Japanese Maple..too much wind, and I am told the winter winds will kill it.Yours is truly beautiful. And the precious Finn sitting there so perfectly posed.
Oh, yes, can’t forget….lovely card and a very good video.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Julie – sorry you can’t have the Japanese maples! With the exception of the Dogwoods, I do believe they’re my favorite tree ever!! 🙂 And yes – he’s an awfully good boy!! 🙂

  6. Susan K

Cute card. (Hate I missed the video…on the road home from a disappointing Panther’s game.) I like the embossing at an angle. We live in the woods too but don’t have a pretty Japanese maple or a cute dog to show it off! Beautiful color.

    • stampsnlingers

I’m so happy that maple is right there! It never fails me! Sorry the game was disappointing, Susan! Thanks! 🙂

  7. Elisha Smith

You make the bestest cards and take the bestest photos of your pup!! That tree!!😍

    • stampsnlingers

Awww – you’re sweet, Elisha!! And…it’s not hard to take great pictures of his sweet face!! Thanks! 🙂

  8. Lisa Kind

Your card is beautiful! I love the embossed bg (I think I have that embossing folder!) and beautiful bow. And your Japanese maple is lovely and your puppy so cute! Thanks for playing with Just Us Girls!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Lisa! It’s an awesome embossing folder! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  9. Linda Callahan

Sweet as can be! Love the embossed background! Glad you shared it at Fusion!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Linda – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
