Stampin’ Up! Still Night in a Winter Wood for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! This is another installment of the Joint Blog Hop between the Happy Inkin’ Thursday and Happy Stampers Blog Hop ladies!  I hope you really enjoy all the inspiration you can get from our talented folks!

I pulled out a few new goodies from the 2018 Holiday Catalog (surprise!) for you today.  I used the new Still Night bundle and the Winter Woods stamp set, plus the gorgemous new Frosted Floral Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

We all had a sketch challenge for this week…

I started with a piece of beautiful paper from the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP – I don’t know if you can see in the pictures how shimmery and gorgeous it really is! – and matted it on some Gray Granite card stock for the card front.

The smaller square was made with the birch tree trunk image from the new Winter Woods stamp set.  I used my Stamparatus for this.  The image stamps three trucks at a time – and I did it about 3 1/2 times.  They’re done in stamped-off-once Soft Suede on a square of Whisper White.  Then I adhered it to a Gray Granite mat.  Finally, I ran the whole thing thru the Big Shot in the new Subtle Dynamic TIEF.

I wrapped a length of new 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim around the card front, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

With the little die from the Night Owl Thinlits set (which will be available on 5 Sept as a money-saving bundle with the Still Night stamp set!), I cut a plethora of little pine boughs from Whisper White and Mint Macaron card stock.  Fortunately, you’ll get four of those little dies in the set – so cutting a plethora went a lot faster!  I laid down a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of my stamped and embossed tree panel and adhered all the pine boughs to it.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Still Night stamp set in Soft Suede on Whisper White and cut it with the handy die in the Night Owl Thinlits, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut three branches – one from Whisper White and two from Gray Granite and adhered them together with Liquid Glue and then to the Whisper White panel.  On top of the branch, I added some of the Mint Macaron pine boughs with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Still Night owl in Soft Suede on Whisper White and colored him with my Ivory, Bronze, Light Crumb Cake and Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.  Then I cut him with his matching die in the Night Owl Thinlits and popped him over the branch with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A final little bow from the 3/16″ Braided Linen Thread, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue, finishes off the card front!

On the inside, to a Whisper White panel, I added a branch from the Still Night set in Soft Suede, then added some little pine boughs from the Winter Woods stamp set.in Mint Macaron.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gray Granite mat and into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Still Night and Winter Woods images on the front…

…and some more shimmery Frosted Floral Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  And also – WOW!  I love how the Still Night bundle will stand alone just perfectly (that owl!!) – but also just shines when paired with the wonderful new Winter Woods stamp set!  And – how beautiful is that Frosted Floral DSP!?!  I say again…WOW!!  Hope you like – and are making an ever-expanding list for 5 Sept! 😉
