Stampin’ Up! Stitched All Around on Wood

Hey guys!  Happy Saturday!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned!  We watched the Black Panther movie on DVD last night, so we’re all caught up – which means…I’m going to go see the Marvels movie today.  Before it’s totally out of the theaters! 🙂  And I think the Man will go to Doggie Camp for the first time since “the incident”!

So – let’s do this, shall we?  I used the pretty Stitched All Around Bundle (which coordinates with the Stitched Labels Framelits) for my card.  And then I added some Wood Textures and Share What You Love DSPs.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

And the idea for the Wood Textures DSP comes from the TGIF Inspiration Challenge.

I started by adhering some Wood Textures DSP to a Grapefruit Grove mat with Liquid Glue.  Then I did the same with a flowery piece of Share What You Love DSP and adhered it to the card front.

Next up, I used my Stamparatus and a little hinge-step technique to stamp the flower border image from the Stitched All Around set in Petal Pink several times on a light-colored piece of the Wood Textures DSP.  That one is matted on Grapefruit Grove, too, then added to the card front.

For the sentiment – I cut the pretty Wood Textures label with the Stitched Labels Framelits die.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment from Stitched All Around in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I cut a second Stitched Labels Framelits label from Grapefruit Grove card stock and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the sentiment over top – slightly offset – with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a single Mint Macaron Share What You Love Artisan Pearl to the sentiment label and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (get yours before they’re gone!) to add two Stitched All Around sentiments – one in Petal Pink and one in Mint Macaron – to the middle of a Whisper White panel.  Across the bottom, I added a couple of Petal Pink flower borders.  Then I cut two Grapefruit Grove hearts with the Stitched Labels Framelits and added them with Liquid Glue.

I matted the panel on Grapefruit Grove and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Petal Pink flower borders and a couple of Grapefruit Grove die cut hearts on the front…

…and then I added a little more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love the die cuts from the Stitched Labels Framelits – and they work so perfectly with the sentiments and images in Stitched All Around!  How handy that you’ll be able to get the whole thing and save a cool 10%, huh?  And I feel pretty sure no one can dispute how beautifully the Share What You Love Specialty DSP pairs with the rustic Wood Textures!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Today we (well – maybe me more than Wayne) – began the quest to make Wilbur a true part of the family.

I’m going to try to some Natural Horsemanship….errr….pigmanship…on him.

The first step involves food (a slight departure from the horse version I learned).

A couple days ago I started putting a little handful of the girl’s not-so-sweet feed out on the ground for him.

Today – I added a feed tub.

And in the evening – I stood within about 12 feet of said tub.

Closer up – it’s pretty obvious he’s not at all big.  Like…shorter than Finn.

I think he might even be a gen-u-wine pot-belly pig.

Later, I was back in the wash rack – and…

He just came back and had him a little lay-down in the cool grass in the shade!

I’ll keep moving closer while he eats.  Get him desensitized to me.

Next up?  Pat the pig!

Or…not.  We’ll see! 🙂

P.S.  Thanks to all of you who left such sweet comments for the vet on FB!  Meant a lot to me and the Man! 🙂

Oh Mary and Finn. A new family member. CONGRATULATIONS. Know he/she has been hanging around for a while, but welcome new member. Oh Mary, you are so blessed to have this new family member. Blessings: Mal, Melbourne, Australia

    • stampsnlingers

I know. I’m already ridiculously attached to the little booger. I’m such a sap! 😉 Thanks, Mal! 🙂

  2. Pretty card! Love the woodgrain designer paper, perfect colors too! Yep, I knew that it was only a matter of time…the pig is no dummy, he and Finn have probably had some secret conversations about how good life is at your place. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Amy! And I’m sure he’s talking with all the 4-legged residents. The other day I’m pretty sure the ponies sent him to the house to tell me they were ready to go out and to get a move on! 🙂

  3. Susan K

First, it’s a cute card. I’m not an “orange” person but it works for this. I love the diecuts…will have to give that new set a second look. Next, how lucky is Wilbur, to be adopted into the family. He doesn’t seem alarmed that you are edging closer. The food doesn’t hurt, I’m sure!

    • stampsnlingers

No – food is the way to a piggie’s heart, I’m sure! He’s getting tamer by the day! I’m not usually an orange person either – but I love this Grapefruit Grove!! Thanks much, Susan! 🙂

  4. Kate

    Another good one!
Kinda grows on you, does the Wilbur.
Tried to see on fb about Finn, but…no luck. Would surely have added MY gratitude for their help to you and good care of Finny. Hope he has a swell time today, and you too.

    • stampsnlingers

We did – and so did he! And yes – Wilbur is growing on me. Not surprising, probably. Thanks, Mom!

  5. Love the Woodgrain with that beautiful DSP! Very pretty card! And oh that pig! He will be your BFF before you know it!

    • stampsnlingers

He’s already working his way in – it’s simply a matter of time!! Thanks, Linda! 🙂

  6. I am not an orange person either, but I do like Grapefruit Grove. Lovely card. The wood just makes it. And, that stitched bundle is high on my list to order.
This little piggie is so fortunate that he came to live on your place. I am sure he realizes it and he and Finn will no doubt become good friends.

    • stampsnlingers

I hope so – it’s going to be a pain to have to keep them separated forever! Finn wants to get up close and personal VERY badly!! Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂

  7. Barbara Riefner

    Has Finn seen Wilbur yet?

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes – and he is pretty fascinated by him! Soon I suspect they’ll be trying to play together! 😉
