Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Abstract Garden Impressions

Well.  We did it, my peeps!  We made it thru the week to Friday again!

But – you know what I realized today?

Time is running down.  To…my Double Peppermint Points special ending (on the 14th).  To…the new catalog going live (on 1 June)!  To…me sending out Catalog Shares to folks who’ve bought them (8 June!)!  To…me going to California for work (9 June) – then flying home and going…TO ALASKA (15 July!)!  Whoo-hooo!

Lots to be done bewixt now and then, yes?

But, for now, how’s about a quick and easy birthday card?  I used some of the new Garden Impressions DSP, the Happy Birthday Thinlits die and a few images from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I love crooked-y panels!!

This one was quick and easy, y’all!

I started with two panels of the new Garden Impressions DSP (coming on 1 June) – both of which are matted on new Petal Pink card stock!

The card base, in new Shaded Spruce card stock, is embossed on the front in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.  Then I adhered the two matted panels – the bottom layer with Liquid Glue and the top popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I fussy cut a few flowers and a leaf from the Garden Impressions DSP.  I adhered the leaf and double flower with Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment, I cut two Happy Birthday Thinlits die cuts in Melon Mambo card stock and one in new Mango Madness.  I stacked them up with Liquid Glue – offsetting the bottom Mango Madness die cut to form a little shadow.

Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I popped the smaller flower on with a Stampin’ Dimensional, added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to stamp an Abstract Impressions stamp set two-step flower in stamped-off-once Petal Pink and Melon Mambo on a Whisper White panel.   Over the top of the flower, I added the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to mat the panel on Petal Pink and into the Shaded Spruce card base and that was it for the card.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a full strength Petal Pink and Melon Mambo flower from Abstract Impressions on the front…

…and some more of the Garden Impressions DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila! Isn’t this Garden Impressions paper so stinkin’ pretty?!  I love it with the Happy Birthday Thinlit die cut sentiment on top!  And, the sentiment and flower from the coordinating Abstract Impressions stamp set is the perfect foil.  Hope you like – and already have this paper on your list!

Finn Fan Fix

The Prodigal Piggy has returned.

He was at the barn the other night, returning with as little fanfare (none!) as he’d departed.

Goofy thing.  Just stood there wagging his tail at me and Finn like a contented horse.

I need a mirror, y’all – to hold up so he realizes he’s A. Pig!

  1. Love that card Mary! The colors are perfect and so is your design! And what’s wrong with a pig hanging out with the horses? He’s just looking for someone to be friends with (and who he knows won’t eat him!) and for someone to adopt him and feed him…he knows a good thing when he sees it. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

I must put off “Come here – I’ll adopt you instantly” vibes or something. Cuz yea – he’s in a safe place here. Sigh… Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Mary

I so look forward to your post every morning not just for the cards & creations, but to make me smile. I love reading about Finn and all the other animals. And I love your card. It’s bright and cheery. I’m loving that new DSP. Thanks for all you do. You are an incredible demonstrator who draws people in and makes customers feel more like friends that you’ve invited into your home.

    • stampsnlingers

Wow, Mary – that’s really a very sweet thing to say. Makes me feel good – and makes me think I’m achieving what I set out to do! Thank you so very much! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. have you named him yet? He is really cute and good size. I echo what Mary said. I thought about you from 4:30 to 10 while I was at the hospital with Perry. I am reading a book about World War II pilots. The only thing that is keeping me with it is knowing you are an aviator! Have a great weekend. I don’t where ours is leading us.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes – that’s Wilbur Deatherage. I think my neighbor is getting a stall plaque with his name on it for us to put up. I hope you enjoy the book – what is it? And…I’m so sorry that your weekend is worrisome. 🙁

  4. Bernice P

Love this card Mary…. and am loving that DSP…. thanks for sharing once again a beautiful card with us.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, Bernice!! It’s such pretty paper! 🙂

  5. Pat C

Love your card, Mary, especially the colors and that dsp!
Your piggie friend is so cute! What does Finn think of him?

    • stampsnlingers

I don’t know that Finn knows WHAT IN THE WORLD he is! There’s a lot of staring at each other goes on. We’ll see what they decide! Thanks, Pat! 🙂

  6. karren Olaveson

    Hi Mary,
Your card, as always, is just beautiful!! Love the little pig. What a cute little guy. I agree with the lady that said you draw people in and you make people feel like we have known each other forever, like an old friend that comes in, sits down, and has nice conversations. I have never had that ever. It seems so nice to know you. Take good care, and do have a lovely weekend.
    Best wishes,
    Karren

    • stampsnlingers

That’s really sweet, Karren – and I feel the same way! I so with we’d had the chance to get together when I was in Utah! 🙁 Thank you so much, my friend! 🙂

  7. Kathy Fennell

Hey Mary! Everything about this card really catches one’s eye, beautiful! I think Wilbur feels the southern charm and hospitality of the Deatherage homestead and that’s why he came back. 🙂 Enjoy your evening!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, Kathy! It’s certainly bright and cheery! 🙂 He’s made himself a little spot in the barn, so…I guess he’s going to spend a few nights. I’ll put out a pitcher of water and a mint on the pillow! 🙂

      • Kathy Fennell

That would certainly give me a reason to consider being a permanent house guest! 🙂

      • stampsnlingers

        LOL! 🙂

  8. This is such a bold and striking card! That big sentiment is fabulous! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches,

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Karren! I love that die!! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  9. digging the big sentiment and all the details you put on here! I especially like that you stamped the inside…I usually forget about that until I’m ready to send! Gah! Thanks for joining the FMS challenge this week!

    • stampsnlingers
