Stampin’ Up! Vintage Do What You Love Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, y’all!  Here we are – one week post “incident”!  Can you believe it?

Now that you’ve scrolled back up from your check on Finn – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate it very much!  If not, but would like to see how to make this easy thank you card, here’s the replay on YouTube!

Coming on 1 May is the early release to customers of the wonderful Share What You Love suite of goodies from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!  Stampin’ Up! is giving everyone an extra whole month to play with this gorgeous bundle!  So – in case you’re not already excited enough, I made a pretty, vintage-inspired card with the Do What You Love stamp set and more of the lovely Share What You Love Specialty DSP!  Take a look-see:

This one is really easy to make – so…here we go!

I started with a piece of the new Share What You Love DSP and matted in on Mint Macaron card stock – yes, indeed!  Mint Macaron will be coming back in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog!

Using a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive, I added a length of the Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim, wrapping it around and securing it in the back.  Around that, I wrapped some Mint Macaron twine from the Nature’s Twine pack (available 1 June).

I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to 3″ square – then tore it down a little bit to vintage-ize it – and popped it at an angle over the twine with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Do What You Love sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto a 3″ square piece of Crumb Cake and I tore its edges, too.  I added a Pear Pizzazz leaf from Do What You Love in two corners.  With a wedge of a Stampin’ Sponge, I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.  Then I added it over the Basic Black square with Liquid Glue.

I fussy cut a few flowers from the Share What You Love Specialty DSP – and edged them with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  The two smaller flowers are adhered with Liquid Glue – then I popped the full flower on with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  That flower got a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl (available 1 May) in the center.

A Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim bow finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added some flowers from Do What You Love in Crumb Cake on a Whisper White panel.  I added stamped-off-once Rich Razzleberry wash images and then lightly sponged the edges of the panel with my almost-dry Crumb Cake sponge.  Finally, I added the second Do What You Love sentiment in Rich Razzleberry.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Mint Macaron card base (available 1 May with the Early Release), popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Do What You Love flowers on the front…

…and a bit more Share What You Love Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy card – and so elegant, thanks to the so wondrous Share What You Love Specialty DSP and the wonderful sentiments and images in the Do What You Love stamp set.  I’m so excited for y’all to be able to grab these goodies on 1 May – that’s in just 8 days!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Well – Sunday was a day of new things.

Or…new old things? Old new… I don’t know!  I saw some “old” Finn that made me happy and I saw some “new” Finn that I sorta hope goes by the wayside as the recovery continues.

He…sort of licked the dirty dishes in the dishwasher.  Only sort of – but…it’s a start! “Old” Finn.

He dropped the chewable pills and gave me the look.  You know – the “are you kidding me?? Put those in some chicken and rice and we’ll talk” look.  “Old” Finn – but there’d been a day or two where “New” Finn just ate them.  Sorta liked that one!

We rode on the golf cart. “Old” Finn!

He’s become quite vocal – at least more so today than yesterday.  “Old” Finn was very quiet except for when something needed to be barked at – hoping that one comes back right quick!  “New” Finn is barking like a goof when he hears the frogs outside or the cat in the litter box. 😉

On the other hand, he’s still got “stealth” mode down pat!  I’ll think he’s in the bedroom and then…he’s right behind me.  Which is a little teensy bit dangerous! 🙂

And – he watched some Dog TV!

So – another day down.  A little less sleeping – all very normal for “Old” Finn – but no restless pacing.  Which is excellent!  Glad that one seems to be behind us.

We’ll see what Monday brings, yes?

Thank you again for all the love and prayers – they mean more than you know!

You and Fin are gaining, Mary. Have a great day!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Jean – appreciate the prayers that are helping us to get there! 🙂

  2. Such a beautiful card! Love the colors and that designer paper is amazing! So glad that Finn is starting to return…he’ll be smiling before you know it. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

It’s the prettiest paper I think we’ve ever had! Thanks so much, Amy – watching for that Finn-grin! 🙂

  3. I really didn’t scroll down and go back up…I KNEW everything was still going forward 🙂 PLUS, I had to look at that beautiful card again. That boy is smart…chicken and rice to disguise the pills…yumm! He’s his old self when it comes to selfies too. I’m so thankful you can be home with him while you work.I totally get how the love and payers feel. Looking forward to when he starts taking the end of that orange collar in his mouth. For me, that’s his Finnish trade mark. Oh, and can you clear up something for me, please. You keep saying May 1 but Amy and SU say May 2….I like your version better. Can I order on May 1 or do I just get to see on May 1? Thanks and hugs!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – that’s definitely a trait I’ll be happy to see! The collar he’s wearing now doesn’t have a long tail – so I tell myself that’s why he hasn’t done that yet! I, too, amd happy to be able to be home with him. Don’t think I could make myself leave…thank you so much, Karen! 🙂

  4. Mary, never mind about the May 1 / May 2. I now realize I’m getting confused about being a customer or a demonstrator. The May 1 came early because I’m a demonstrator under you…lol! Hopefully, other people will join your fantastic team so they can get those perks!

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! It can get confusing sometimes, for sure! Thanks for the kind words – and yes! Folks should join the team and reap ALL the benefits of being a demonstrator! 🙂

  5. Bernice Pega

    Hi Mary,
Love the card and so glad that Finn is starting to feel better…

  6. Thanks Mary for the update. He is such a gorgeous Finn Boy, as I have said before I feel such an attachment to him even from over here in Aus, as he reminds me so much of a farm dog we had when I was a younger person at home on the farm. Loving thought to you all. Heres hoping you get to see more of the old Finn as he makes progress, one day at a time. Love Roslaie.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes, ma’am – one day one step one hint of progress at a time!! 🙂 Thanks so much! 🙂

  7. Thanks for the Finn update and for the great video last night. I had to leave due to a phone call I had to take, and complete, so had to finish watching the replay. Beautiful card! My stuff has arrived, but no time to do anything with it yet. Busy week this week, so minimal cardmaking. Those Owls are keeping me occupied!! Two hours this morning. Very active, still no babies visible.
Love and prayers to you all.

    • stampsnlingers

Those darned owls – keeping you on such an extended baby-watch! Tell ’em to get on the stick! Thanks so much for joining us last night, Julie!! 🙂

  8. Sandra Warthen

I am on my way to an appointment, but I had to check on Finn first. Glad he seems to be doing better. That was quite a blow he had. Prayers still ongoing…

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he took a hit, for sure! He IS doing better – every day! Thanks so much for checking on him before you started your day, Sandi! 🙂

  9. Pat

I’m so happy that Finn is continuing to improve. Atta boy, Finn! 😘
Your card is beautiful, especially that DSP!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Pat! He’s a good boy and he’s busy healing! 🙂

  10. Barbara Riefner

Love the pictures of him watching television. They are so adorable. Glad he is coming back and hopefully the “new Finn” will resume some of the “Old Finn” habits.

    • stampsnlingers

I think he will! I think I saw “the lips” this morning! 🙂 Thanks so much, Barbara! 🙂

  11. Rita R

Mary, I watched your video on YouTube very early this morning (really enjoyed the chat and the BEAUTIFUL card you created) and then came to your web site to get my Finn Fix. Yes, I have to confess I scrolled down to read about Mr. Finn before I read today’s post (you know us all so well). The news about him is very encouraging …. so thankful to hear it!

That DSP is georgeous! I really liked the look of the mint macaron twine adhered over top of the pretty lace ribbon. So happy that mint macaron is coming back! Thanks for the hint about adhering the dsp just a tad lower on the envelope flap …. great idea!

    • stampsnlingers

I’ve got y’all’s number about the Finn!! 😉 Glad you enjoyed the video and the card – I love this bundle so much! 🙂

  12. Ellie Peckler

Mary, another awesome, beautiful card AND Finn update! It is so encouraging to see the progress he is making. Love both close-ups, too! Have a great week. – Ellie

  17. Elisha Smith

Great video last night – you have the vintage thing down! Love the card! Still praying for Finn – my daughter asked about him today! Lol! Glad to hear that he continues to progress. Honestly, I’m amazed that he’s up on all fours in a week’s time! He is one tough dude!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Elisha – glad you got some good news about him to share with your daughter (thank her for asking!). He IS a tough dude – thank the Lord!! 🙂
