Stampin’ Up! Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts on Delightful Daisy

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope the week is going well for you!

I have a pretty little Spring-y card to share with you today, using some of my oh-so-large stash of Delightful Daisy DSP and the so-pretty Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I chose this layout for the Sketch Saturday Any-Sketch-challenge.

And I played along with the CAS-ual Fridays theme challenge.

I started with a piece of Delightful Daisy DSP and matted it on Tranquil Tide for the card front.  The other side of that design was perfect for the color scheme, so I rounded the corners with the outside corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board and matted it on a similarly-rounded Tranquil Tide panel.  Then I Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.

I wrapped a length of Crushed Curry  3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the panels, securing it in the back with Fast Fuse.

For the art piece, I colored the adorable branch image from the Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set with my Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on Whisper White.  Then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the little bird – colored with my Tranquil Tide and Melon Mambo Markers.

I cut the image out with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelits die and matted it on a scalloped Tranquil Tide oval – cut with the Ovals Layering Framelits.  I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to wind a few loops of Silver Metallic Thread behind the matted oval and then popped it over the top of the ribbon.

The Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide on a strip of Whisper White.  I rounded the corners with the Envelope Punch Board and added faux stitches with my Marker.  Then I used some Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional to add it to the card.

I used Glue Dots to add a few Petal Passion Embellishments and a bow tied with the Crushed Curry 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.  A few Pearl Basic Jewels finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added two more of the pretty little branches to a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another branch on the front…

…and a little more Delightful Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is truly some of my very favorite DSP – is it yours, too??  And this Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts has the sweetest little line-drawing images in it – this little branch is just a small sampling!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn is a farm dog.  With many duties.

He “helps” to bring in the horses.

He “helps” me spread the manure…

He “helps” me clean the stalls…

Oh – you think that looks more like…napping?

Well – how about this?  This is him “helping” me put out hay for the girls.

It takes a trained professional to lay down squarely in the path between the hay stall and the hay destination!

It’s like he’s got a GPS in his brain!!

Talented little dude, huh?  “Regular” dogs shouldn’t even try this. 🙂

I had to go back and look at that stamp set! I remember the cart but not that sweet branch and bird. Very creative use of them. Love the combination of shapes and use of that DSP too. What a good helper Finn is, making you take extra steps around him in the barn!

    • stampsnlingers

Ahhh – hadn’t considered that! So…he’s also my Personal Fitness Trainer! A man of many talents! 🙂 Thanks very much, Susan! 🙂

  2. Sweet card! Love the little bird and the pretty papers. Finn is definitely a busy guy…how could he supervise what you are doing if he didn’t lay right in the middle of the path?? 😉

    • stampsnlingers

True – he’d be forever unsure of where I was if I didn’t have to step over/around him on each trip! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Funny Finn! Great talent there, and such a GOOD helper! 🙂
I really do like this card. And, I can’t say why I like it, because it doesn’t have stuff I usually like. Except the paper. Oh, yeah, and the bird on the branch. That is a great stamp set. Under used for sure. I like the rounded corners for a nice change too, and forget to do that.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes, I really love that line-drawn branch! Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂

  4. Kate

Well…don’t know that I would classify Clara as a “regular” dog, but she’s got the napping…uh, helping…thing down pat!
    Sweet little card!

    • stampsnlingers

Well – hard to say how to classify Clara… except sweet as can be! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  5. Pat

Pretty card, and yes, I do love that dsp!
    Finn…best farm dog ever! 😍

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Pat. Yep – he IS the best! 🙂

  6. LOL Awwww Finn has such a hard life with all those chores!!! =)

    • stampsnlingers

True! Practically child labor!! Thanks, Tam! 🙂

  7. Cheryl Hewak

Love the card. So glad you had a helper with the horses.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Cheryl! A farm needs a hand, that’s for sure! 😉
