Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Amazing Eclectic Expression for the Stamp Ink Paper #142

Hey guys!  It’s Tuesday so that means another fun challenge for you to play along with from Stamp Ink Paper!  And it’s color week!

I used a few goodies that you can get for FREE for another couple of weeks before Sale-A-Bration comes to an end on 31 Mar!  With a $50 purchase, you can get the Myths & Magic 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper, the Eclectic Expressions or Amazing You stamp sets, 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon Pack, Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes or the Simple Stripes TIEF!  With a $100 purchase, getcha the Celebrate You Thinlits!  Yep – used them all.  Take a look-see:

Can you guess the colors for SIP #142?  Hope you’ll come and play along with us this week!

I also used a sketch challenge this week for my layout.  I chose the clean sketch from FabFriday!

I started with one of the fun – and free! – Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes in Lemon Lime Twist for my card base.  Then I embossed a Whisper White panel in the Simple Stripes TIEF (yep – free!) and matted it (de-bossed side up) on Smoky Slate.

My smaller panel is more Whisper White matted on Smoky Slate.  I made the sort of abstract design with the sunburst image from the free Amazing You stamp set – I stamped it all over in various directions – after stamping off once before each stamp.  There’s a single stamped sentiment – also from Amazing You – stamped in Basic Gray Archival ink.

I wrapped a length of free Bermuda Bay 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around, securing it in the back with Fast Fuse.  Then I popped the stamped panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the fun word-die from the Celebrate You Thinlits (say it with me…FREE!) to cut the sentiments from the Myths & Magic 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper and Smoky Slate card stock.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the words to the small panel (I also stuck a couple tiny pieces of Dimensionals under the letters on the ends just to support them).

I tied a tiny bow and stuck it on with a smooshed up Glue Dot, added some Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Eclectic Expressions stamp set (this one is in the second SAB release!) in Bermuda Bay.  Over that, in stamped-off-once Lemon Lime Twist, I added the Amazing You sunburst.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into the Tutti-Frutti Card, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of the already-decorated-for-us Tutti-Frutti Envelope, I added a few Amazing You sunbursts in Bermuda Bay…

…and I did absolutely nothing to the envelope flap – it just comes that way! 🙂

Et Voila!  There are a lot of free goodies still available to y’all – but only for a couple more weeks!  I hope you’ll double check your stocking-up-shopping lists and earn a few of them for yourself!  Don’t forget – the Celebrate You Thinlits WILL be available in the next Annual Catalog – but…it’s won’t be free! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

On our last Mary’s-Favorite-Day-of-the-Week, Sonya (our wonderful housecleaning angel) brought her grand-daughter with her.  Finn – while a little gobsmacked by the sheer tiny-ness of the human – is….intrigued.

For the most part, Skyler slept like a….well…baby! 😉

But then, as happens, she woke up needing a snack and a change.

The crying triggered the “shepherd”.

In this picture, he’s sort of whining at/to her.  He needed her to be okay!  AND WE BIG HUMANS NEEDED TO MAKE IT SO!

So – he licked her little hand…

Which did serve to make the crying stop as she tried to figure out why her hand was suddenly slimy…

Once Grandma finally got the snack ready…

…he kept a pretty close eye on the whole situation!

He’s so sweet with her.  Of course, it helps that she can’t escape the herd… 😉

  1. Such a cute card Mary! The colors work perfectly with your design. And Finn to the rescue!! Sweet pictures of both of them. 🙂

  2. Your card brought joy to my heart and Finn brought tears to my eyes. There is something so special about him. Skyler is a lucky girl. Thanks for sharing the pics. Now I gotta go get a Kleenex Ya never know what’s going to hit your emotions at 7 in the morning!

    • Nope – you sure don’t! 🙂 Yes, he’s a special little man. I feel very blessed that he came to live with us! 🙂 Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Kate

Oh my goodness. Finn the Nanny-Shepherd. Will his talents never cease! Suh-weet! And, IMHO, he hot pretty big blessed too when he came to you.

  4. Great card! I love the colors and especially the way you used that starburst stamp to create the rectangle panel! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

  5. Very pretty card, considering. 🙂
The shepherd never quits, does he? So special to see him with a little human. Both are adorable!

    • Nope – forever vigilant. Unless he’s snoring…. 🙂 Thanks, Julie – glad you liked it even with the “considering” that’s all over it! 😉

  6. I agree with Karen. Finn’s loving heart made me cry. ❤❤❤ Now, your card is a different matter I love a challenge like making it all free. Wow you hit a home run! Today I learned: The word “Let’s” is included in that stamp set. And, the TIEF for those “boards” is free!!!! HOW did I miss that? That EF is on my “need” list and I missed the chance. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Hey Sharon – yep – Simple Stripes went on the SAB list just last week! You can see the flyer on the blog – there’s quite a few good things on it! So there’s still time! 🙂 Yes – he’s got a huge heart in that compact little body! Thanks much! 🙂

    Get organized with Yahoo Mail

  8. Heather Heroldt

I love the stamped panel you created, Mary – reminds me of the short little date palms all over the place here in AZ – I feel like I’m looking at a lovely desert scene! Love your composite of the sentiments, too – so buttoned up! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
