Stampin’ Up! Petal Cafe Thanks a Latte for the Stamp Ink Paper 139

It’s Tuesday, y’all – so that means it’s time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge for you!  This week we’re playing with Ribbon!

I pulled out a fun set from the Annual Catalog – the Coffee Cafe and bundled Coffee Cups Framelits.  And paired them with the Petal Pair TIEF from the Occasions catalog and a sentiment from the Petal Palette set.  Take a look-see:

The challenge for SIP #139 is…as I mentioned…Ribbon!  Hope you’ll come play along!

I – being ever needy – borrowed a layout from this week’s challenge at The Paper Players.

And I took inspiration from the photo at The Card Concept.

I started out by embossing both sides of a Very Vanilla panel in the Petal Pair TIEF from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  Then I matted it on Powder Pink for the card front.

The middle panel is a piece of Wood Textures DSP – embossed in the Simple Stripes TIEF (part of the Picture Perfect Party Suite!) – matted on Powder Pink and Fast Fuse’d to the card front.  Over that is another strip of Very Vanilla, embossed in the Petal Pair TIEF and matted on Powder Pink!

Then I wrapped a length of Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon around the two panels, securing it in the back with a little Fast Fuse.

I made two cups of coffee – one is iced and the other hot…

The iced cup started with a cup shape cut with a die in the Coffee Cups Framelits from a piece of Very Vanilla.  Over the top of that, is a piece of Vellum card stock.  I inked up the Marbled Background stamp in Crumb Cake and stamped the Vellum. When it was dry, I cut it with the same Coffee Cups die.  Then I adhered it over the top of the Very Vanilla cup with my Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

I cut some “whipped cream” from Whisper White card stock and a Vellum “lid” and adhered them both to the top of the cup.  For fun, I wrapped a little Linen Thread around the base of the lid.

It could happen.  Some baristas might roll like that! 🙂

I stamped a Powder Pink “straw” onto a piece of Whisper White and cut it with the straw die – then I adhered it to the back of the cup with some Liquid Glue.  I popped that cup on the card front with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the “hot” cup, I stamped the Coffee Cafe image in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla and cut it with the Coffee Cups die.  I also cut a whatever-they-call-those-things-that-keep-the-blistering-hot-cup-from-burning-off-your-fingerprints from Crumb Cake with the fun little die that cuts and embosses at the same time.  It’s adhered with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip on Powder Pink and cut it with its die.  Then I adhered it to an oval Corrugated Elements and popped it on the cup with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a lid from Chocolate Chip – and scored a line in it with my Simply Scored board, then adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Finally – I made a little stopper – by stamping the heart from Coffee Cafe in Powder Pink on Very Vanilla and cutting it with the matching die.

I tied a bow from the Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set in Chocolate Chip on a Very Vanilla panel.  Across the bottom I added some of the diagonal stripes (the “straw”) in Powder Pink and some Chocolate Chip coffee beans.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Chocolate Chip card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Across the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added more Powder Pink diagonals and Chocolate Chip coffee beans…

…and then I added more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap and embossed it all in the Petal Pair TIEF!

Et Voila!  I gotta tell you, folks – as I type this I’m getting a powerful craving for an iced mocha latte! 🙂  Gotta love the Coffee Cafe stamp set and Coffee Cups Framelits, huh?  I like how the Wood Textures pairs with the Petal Pair embossing, too!  Hope you like!

Hey, folks – if you do love this bundle – get it now!  If it makes into the next catalog at all, they won’t be available as a money-saving bundle!  Just sayin’!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the marbled latte…looks so yummy! Powder Pink and Chocolate Chip make the perfect combination for your card! 🙂

  2. Ooh, it makes me want a latte and I don’t even like them. BUT, I do like your card…a latte 🙂 Amy is so right about the pink and chocolate.

    • Right? Just makes you hungry AND thirsty all at the same time!! I LOVE Latte’s. But so do buy hips and hiney, so….nunya for me! 🙁 Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. AHA! Now we know what inspires your cards…personal cravings. 🙂
Perfectly lovely, and now I must get my sets out and use them. You’ve inspired me. Love your colors.
How long do you have to think about a card before you do it?

    • Excellent question. This one had been percolating (see what I did there!?) for a minute. I saw the inspiration photo from The Card Concept – so…Coffee Cafe, pink, flowers, wood. Stamp Ink Paper – Ribbon. Then The Paper Players e-mail came and….there it was! Thanks so much, Julie – I really DO have a craving for a latte!! 🙂

  4. Kate

Really good! As would a latte be had the Coffee Shack not morphed into a useless spa.
Ah…cogito, ergo sum. Finnates has it down. He will go down in history.

    • He’s a deep thinker, for sure!! SOME folk might think he was sleeping, but…nope. Solving the problems of philosophy! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  5. Elisha

😂😂😂 You are cracking me up today! I DO love the card – the marbling stamp – the straw stamp as a border – perfection! I need to use card challenges more often for inspiration – you are a pro at this! Well, I’d better get back to the ‘ole grind😉 (p.s. – I think they’re called sleeves)

    • Sleeves. Hmm – mayhap! But you sure knew what I meant with my description, didn’t you!?! LOL! Thanks much, Elisha – glad I could give you a chuckle today!! 🙂

  6. Annie A.

I’m lovin’ this card and all the wonderful details! The marbled BG stamp for the cold drink…genius! I had to smile at the twine on the top. I donate enough money to my barista every week, I SHOULD at least get twine! Thanks so much for sharing this beauty over at The Paper Players this week!

  7. Fabulous coffee card! So love that heart stopper… what a great touch! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week!

  8. I just love everything about this! That marbled background calls to me each time I see it…so much better stamped than in the catalog! Your creations are delish! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players this week!
