Stampin’ Up! Heart Happiness Springtime Foils Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!  Hope you’ve got a little something fun and romantic planned, if that’s your thing.  If not, and you tend to think of your significant other as your Valentine every day, then…today’s card will be right up your alley!

I used the Heart Happiness stamp set and two new goodies from the second Sale-A-Bration release (coming on Friday, 16 Feb!) – the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP and the wondrous Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.  And with all these fun tools, I made a clean and simple Valentine’s card for you.  Take a look-see:

I loosely used the sketch at this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge for my layout:

And my color scheme is from The Paper Players color challenge (although I used Cherry Cobbler instead of Real Red!)

I started with a panel of Whisper White and embossed it in the new (available in just 2 more days for free with a $100 purchase!) Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF, then I Fast Fuse’d it onto a Cherry Cobbler mat for the card front.

The middle art panel is a piece of the new Springtime Foils Specialty DSP.  First, I colored just the flowers with my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends.  Then I used my Crumb Cake ink pad and – holding it upside down and at a slight angle to the paper, ran it across the paper to color it.  I did this multiple times until I had the depth of color that I wanted.  Then I gently wiped the paper with a paper towel – just to be sure I didn’t get any ink where I didn’t want it!

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and then onto the card front.

I wrapped a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and one of 1/4″ Copper Trim around the panel, securing them both in the back with some Fast Fuse.

For my sentiment, I stamped the pretty little heart from the Heart Happiness stamp set in Crumb Cake on Whisper White and cut it with the heart die from the Lots of Love Box Framelits.  With my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker, I edged the heart – then I popped it over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside, I stamped two little conversation hearts from the Sure Do Love You stamp set in Crumb Cake on a Whisper White panel.  I had some leftover Crumb Cake colored Springtime Foils DSP, so I cut a strip of it, matted it on a strip of Cherry Cobbler and adhered it across the bottom with Liquid Glue.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Sure Do Love You conversation hearts across the front…

…and the last of my Crumb Cake colored Springtime Foils DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love love love Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake (would have been good in Real Red, too – but I wanted the color variation of the Blends, so…), don’t you?  The crisp white – embossed in the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF – is perfect with the Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.  And – yet another fun thing to do with the new Springtime Foils Specialty DSP, too!  Hope you like – and are counting the minutes until you can earn these for yourself for FREE!!
