Stampin’ Up! Springtime Foils Celebrate You!

Good mornin’, y’all!  Welcome to another work week!  Never fear – it’ll be over before you know it!

She says hopefully… 😉

And come Friday – you’ll be able to get the star of today’s card with the release of the new Sale-A-Bration goodies!

If you were able to join me last night for my FB Live video last night, thanks so much for sharing part of your weekend with me!  If not, but would like to see how to make today’s card, then here’s the Youtube sort-of-instant replay!

I’ve made a couple of cards this weekend that are a departure from my norm.  Not tons of layers – no fussy cutting.  I know – weird!  But – thought I’d see if I could do it!  This one lets the beautiful new Springtime Foils DSP shine thru with just the addition of some images from the SAB Amazing You stamp set and matching Celebrate You Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

I used the clean-and-simple layout from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches for this one.

Several of the elements are a result of the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – I went right across the middle:

I started by embossing a piece of Night of Navy card stock in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF and matting it on a Powder Pink panel for the card front.

Then I cut two strips of the new Springtime Foil DSP (available Friday FREE with a $50 purchase), cut each of them into two pieces and adhered them to a Powder Pink mat with Liquid Glue.

I colored the flowers on the foil paper with my Dark and Light Old Olive and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends, then Fast Fuse’d the whole thing to the card front.

The sentiment is cut with the Celebrate You Thinlits (available now FREE with a $100 purchase) cut from Night of Navy.  I cut a strip of the Springtime Foils DSP and used the back of it for the sentiment banner (I wanted the same French Vanilla color).  I edged it with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered the die cut sentiment to it with Liquid Glue.

I popped it on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a single word from the Amazing You stamp set (available now FREE with a $50 purchase) in Night of Navy in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top, I added the pretty flower from the same set, in stamped-off-once Powder Pink.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Amazing You flower in full-strength Powder Pink…

…and added more of the Springtime Foils DSP to the envelope flap and colored the flowers with my Stampin’ Blends.

Et Voila!  Clean and simple, but, thanks to the absolute gorgeousness of the Springtime Foils DSP….I think it’s pretty beautiful!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Like so many folks this weekend, we watched some of the Olympics.  Did you?

Bet you didn’t do it with…a furry lapfull-o’-too-big-to-be-a-lap-dog dog!

There mighta been a little horse-play…

…wet-willie, anyone?!?

But – he was pretty fascinated by the drone-show!

And apparently someone said something pretty darned funny!

  1. Sorry I missed you live last night, along with the meeting. We power washed the house and all outside and lanai/porch furniture then cooked a late supper. I was exhausted…couldn’t even make a card for my blog. We were all feeling it in our old bones and muscles. In any event, this is a beautiful card. The layout is right up my alley but I don’t have that DSP…yet! Pink and navy are a close second to black and pink for me. Love it! …and what’s not to love about that snozzle…Finn’s, not yours…lol! Well, yours is cute too. Have a great week.

    • Okay – I got tired just reading that! Wow. I’m not surprised you were exhausted. Glad you got it done and then had a chance to rest! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Pat Christ

Mary, you are so funny, love your Finn story. He’s way too cute, especially when he’s laughing! 😆
As usual, your card is gorgeous. I love the pink/navy color combo and the awesome dsp.

    • Thanks so much, Pat – I love the colors and this new DSP is…well. Amazing!! And yes – he’s a sweetie. And a cutie, too! 🙂

  3. ROFL! Finn is too funny! AND too big to be a lap dog, but evidently he doesn’t know that….or care!
    Lovely card. Great video.

  4. Such a pretty card Mary! Love the foil papers and the clean design. I definitely didn’t have a lap full of furry, but I did watch the Olympics! So fantastic skiing, snowboarding and skating this weekend. 🙂

    • The snowboarding just kills me. I couldn’t get down the hill on one, let alone jump so high and do all those twisty turns. Yikes!! Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

  5. Kate

    Nifty ..card and lapful.

  6. Stella Boatman

I think your foil card is beautiful. Finn is so beautiful also.
