Stampin’ Up! Springtime Foils Perennial Birthday

Happy Saturday!  Whoo-hooo!!!  I don’t even care that it’s going to rain all the weekend thru.  It’s.  The.  Week.  END!!

I’ve shown you a little peek of the new Sale-A-Bration goodies coming with the second release on 16 Feb.  One of those, the Springtime Foils DSP – is showcased on my card for today.  I combined it with some images from the Perennial Birthday and You’re Inspiring stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

Yes.  There’s fussy cutting.  It’s me, people.  I like to cut!  But never fear – it’s easy fussy cutting!

I played along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week!

I started with some of my favorite Wood Textures DSP and Fast Fuse’d it to a Powder Pink mat for the card front.

Using a Lots of Labels framelit, I cut a Copper Foil and Vellum Card Stock label.

I embossed the Copper die cut in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF, then I adhered it (and then the Vellum label) to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I fussy cut a few beautiful flowers and leaves from the floral design paper in the Springtime Foils DSP (available 16 Feb for FREE with a $50 purchase!).  Here’s a reminder of what’s in that pack…

After I had my flowers, I colored them with my Light and Dark Old Olive and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends.

I stamped a sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Soft Suede on a piece of Whisper White and cut it with the little label die in the Petals & More Thinlits.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the flowers and leaves together with the sentiment.

Once I had it all stuck together in a “solid” decorative piece, I turned the whole thing upside down and stuck Stampin’ Dimensionals all over the back.  Then I used those Dimensionals to wind loops of Linen Thread and Copper Metallic Thread around and around.  Then I flipped it back over and popped it over my layered labels.

With a touch of Liquid Glue, I carefully stuck a couple of Touches of Nature Elements leaves into the arrangement.  Finally, I added a double Linen Thread bow and a few round Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the pretty little Happy Birthday sentiment from You’re Inspiring in Soft Suede on a Whisper White panel.  In the bottom corner, I heat embossed the flower image from Perennial Birthday with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then colored it with my Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  I inked the little dots image from Perennial Birthday in Soft Suede and stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it around the flower.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and then into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Copper-heat-embossed Perennial Birthday flower and stamped-off-once Soft Suede dots on the front…

…and then I added more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness, y’all!  Is this not the most gorgeous paper ever!?!?  I love the beautiful flowers in Copper, especially juxtaposed on the rustic Wood Textures DSP.  And the sentiments from Perennial Birthday and You’re Inspiring helped to create a lovely feminine birthday card, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

FAST FUSE APPLICATOR AVAILABILITY

Stampin’ Up! released this update on Friday.   Fast Fuse sale set new records at Stampin’ Up! To provide a little context: The number of Fast Fuse applicators we typically sell in a year is 16,200; during October’s 5-day sale we sold 11,500; and today, in just nine hours, we sold 19,000! Based on the figures from October’s sale, we thought we had more than enough Fast Fuse in stock and never anticipated we would run out—which is also why we didn’t set purchase limits. Obviously, we did not accurately predict your and your customers’ enthusiasm.
Currently, our entire inventory of Fast Fuse has been depleted. Because of challenges in sourcing Fast Fuse, as well as the fact that Fast Fuse will be retiring with the 2017-2018 annual catalog, we will not be replenishing our inventory. Fast Fuse Refills are still available at regular retail price while supplies last.
PLEASE NOTE: Those demonstrators and customers who ordered Fast Fuse applicators after the sale ended but before the Fast Fuse applicator was removed from the store, will receive their two free refills.

Finn Fan Fix

Before I got out the house on Thursday morning, we all did a little tidying up for Miss Sonia.

Finn, the helpmate that he is, was right in the middle of it.

Oh.  You want this yoghurt container?  I was thinking I’d just take it into the living room and put it in my bed with all my other toys.

You know.  For later…. 🙂

The eyes.  THE EYES!!

You KNOW that he’s really torn between doing what I want him to do and what HE wants to do….

Never fear.  He took the container to his dad.

And got a cookie for his excellent decision-making skills!!

Your layered beauties like this are my favorites and this one is just gorgeous. I love it–every single cut and thread. Period.
Funny Finn. Taking it to Dad was a statement of independence–or was it that he knew who was closest to the cookies?

    • LOL – I like to think it’s cuz I said “Finny – give it to your Dad.” But – might very well have been Dad’s proximity to the cookies!! Thanks very much, Susan – so glad that you liked this card! Your Mom may see this one soon! 😉

  4. Absolutely stunning Mary! The colors are perfect and so are your layers. Beautifully created! Finn is too funny…and a little like me. No matter the question, cookies are always the answer. 😉

  14. Wow, Mary, what a stunning card! Love the way you’ve fussy cut the lovely images from the Springtime Foils. The background is perfect for the lovely collection in the centre. Great choice of die-cuts and embossing folders. Love that you toned down the copper foil with that lovely vellum piece. This is a beautifully designed and executed card, right down to the sweet embossed flower inside and the lovely envelope. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  15. Where does one start with this amazing card. Mary you’ve outdone yourself combining all these elements into this rich and amazing blend of designs and florals. Love the cut and coloured flowers, the addition of foil and so many other beautiful pieces. Thanks so much for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday “Feminine Anything Goes” challenge this week and for all the inspiration!
