Stampin’ Up! Sweethearts, Baskets and Sunshine Wishes Love Note

Happy Friday, y’all!  The week is drawing to a close and, for me, it’s doing it from Huntsville!  Found out on Wednesday that I had to come over here the next day to get my computer updated and pick up my new work phone.  So – typing this post on Thursday evening from my hotel in Huntsville.  Will head home Friday afternoon!

Got some fun plans for tomorrow – a friend and I are going to a StampNStorage pop-up sale on the north side of Atlanta!  20% off everything AND 30% off Magnetic cards!  And we can walk right out with them.  Whoo-hoo!

Now – my card for you today has no stamping!  A little bit of ink from a Stampin’ Blend – but…no stamps were inked in the making of this card!  Just some pretty Painted With Love DSP, the Sweetheart TIEF (Annual Catalog), the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF (be prepared to see a lot of this one, y’all!  And – BE READY TO GET IT NEXT WEEK!!) and some die cuts from the pretty Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with the theme challenge from The Paper Players this week.

So.  Here we go!

I started with a panel of Melon Mambo card stock and embossed it in the Sweetheart TIEF, then matted it on Basic Black with Fast Fuse.  Over the top (and covering the un-embossed heart in the middle) is a piece of Painted With Love Specialty DSP, adhered with Liquid Glue at an angle.

Next up is a Whisper White panel, embossed in the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF (available with the Blossoming Basket stamp set on 16 Feb for FREE with a $100 purchase) – also adhered with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Melon Mambo heart with the die in the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment is cut from another design from the Painted Love Specialty DSP as well as three in Basic Black – all the layers are stacked up and stuck together with Liquid Glue.  Then – yep, say it with me! – the whole stack is adhered with more Liquid Glue.

And folks – that was it for the card front.  Easy peasy, huh?

On the inside, I matted a Whisper White panel on a Basic Black mat with Fast Fuse.  Then I stuck on a strip of Melon Mambo card stock with Liquid Glue.  I wrapped a length of the Pick A Pattern Washi Tape over the Melon Mambo card stock strip.

I added a Calypso Coral heart from the Subtles Enamel Shapes.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel into my Melon Mambo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another strip of the Pick A Pattern Washi Tape across the front.  Then I colored the little dots with my Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend and stuck on a Melon Mambo heart Enamel Shape…

…and then I added more of the heart-strewn Painted With Love Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Squint yer eyes.

Don’t you see it?

Of course you don’t cuz…I forgot to take a picture of it! 🙁  Sorry!  I think you get the drift, though!  I used the same design that is on the card front.

Et Voila!  No stamps required! Just the wonderful Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and some gorgeous Painted With Love Specialty DSP.  And two beautiful embossing folders – the Sweetheart TIEF and the new Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

It was a dark and gloomy day….

No – not the start of my novel.  Just the facts, folks!

Wednesday was a total wash-out at our house.

It was raining when we got up.  Raining when we fed the horses breakfast.  Raining raining raining.

Finn came in the house with me right after we got done with the horses and spent the rest of the day inside.  Not much to do beyond sleep morosely by the back door…

…and occasionally raise up to figure out what that rumbling was all about.

And heave big sighs about every three minutes…

bored bored bored bored bor…..

  1. Rain days suck! 🙁 Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Mom

    Very pretty valentine.
Hope you had better weather to drive, and for your week end.
    Snow on the way…😀

    • Yep – I was glad that the day I had to drive was dry! And so will the drive home. And then…gully-washer for the weekend! 🙁 Thanks much, Mom! 🙂

  3. What a gorgeous Valentine! Isn’t it great when it all comes together with no stamping? Love the Melon Mambo. Thank you for joining my challenge at The Paper Players this week! XX

    • I know! It wasn’t planned that way, but… love when it just happens! Thanks, Claire – and thank YOU for the fun challenges! 🙂

  4. Stunning valentine! Love your colors and No Stamping! Poor Finn. I really like how you mix different sets together. I can/do but they don’t come out as classy as yours.
He certainly looks as though he would prefer to be outside, rain or not.

Every time I see that heart die I wish I had it! Your card is lovely and I really like how you finished it off inside too! I smiled at your puppy laying by the door…same thing is happening here…especially the sighing and bored looks! He only gets up to drop a ball in my lap every once and a while! Thanks for playing along over at The Paper Players this week!

    • LOL – The bored sighs! They’re so much like human children, aren’t they?! Thanks so much, Annie – I appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  6. Susan K

Sometimes it’s one of those cards–no stamping but still beautiful; sometimes it’s one of those days–rainy and dreary and boring. Jealous of your plans for tomorrow…buy some good stuff!

  7. Kathy L

Sweet card, and easy to do, with you providing all the steps! Thank you very much.
Yes, I’d read y’all had a gully-washer yesterday…do you have gullies in GA? Hope all is dry around your place.
