Stampin’ Up! Petals and Sunshine for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! It’s color week – so be sure to check out all the ladies’ projects when you’re done here, won’t you?

I decided to use some of the Petal Passion DSP and another elements from the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack, plus a pretty Gold Foil sentiment made with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

Here’s our pretty color combination!

Since I also needed a little help with the layout, I used the Freshly Made Sketches challenges for this week.

I started with a piece of the black-and-white Petal Passion DSP and colored it with my Powder Pink ink pad.  I did that by holding the pad upside down and running the edge of it across the paper.  I just kept doing it until I had the amount of color I wanted.  Then I matted it on a Powder Pink panel.

I wrapped a length of Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmery Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  And then, in a departure from my normal order of things, I popped the card front onto the front of my Basic Black panel.

My flower is one of the sticker die cuts in the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack.  But, I didn’t want a sticker – so I stuck it on a piece of Powder Pink card stock and gave it a quick fussy cut.  Then I colored it with my Powered Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used a couple of Glue Dots to secure a doubled-over length of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmery Ribbon and then popped my flower over it all with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I brushed the flower with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

The final piece is a sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I cut it once from Gold Foil and twice from Powder Pink card stock, stacked them all up with Liquid Glue and then stuck it on the flower.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used another sticker from the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack, colored with the Powder Pink Marker and brushed with the Clear Wink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my card base and the card was done!

I put one more flower sticker from the Card Pack on the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and I colored a little more of the Petal Passion DSP with Powder Pink and put it on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Folks – don’t forget that there are all sorts of fun goodies in the Memories & More Card Packs – and this one, that coordinates with the Petal Passion suite, is no exception!  And…hey!  Not even one stamp got inky in the making of this card! 🙂  I hope you like!

  1. So pretty Mary! Love the clean design and the coloring on the DSP background. Perfectly created! 🙂

  2. Another beautiful card, a good one for the Unstampabelles challenge but they haven’t returned from the holidays yet! I’m so glad you showed how to color with the ink pad. My DSP arrives today and I would have colored every little leaf with a marker! Now I’ll have more time to make two cards!

  3. What a lovely card!!! I love the colors…. Beautiful job!!! =)

  4. Beautiful card, Mary. I wouldn’t have thought to do the things you did. Great job of using the various elements creatively!

  5. Great job Mary. Love the coloring on the flower and the ribbon accent is just right.
