Stampin’ Up! Painted Count My Blessings for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #126

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another fun challenge from Stamp Ink Paper!  And – it’s Day Two of the Stampin’ Up! Online Extravaganza – and my Double Peppermint Ordering Special! (More information is down below)

Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #126 this week is a theme challenge – and it’s so appropriate for this week!

I decided to go with the wonderful Count My Blessings stamp set and I added it to some pretty Painted Autumn DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started this one simply enough, matting a piece of leafy patterned paper from the Painted Autumn DSP on some Cajun Craze card stock, adhering it with Fast Fuse.

I made the sentiment panel from a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, stamping the beautiful sentiment from Count My Blessings in Early Espresso and cutting it out with the largest of the circle Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.  Then I matted it on a scalloped circle Cajun Craze mat.

To assemble the card, I used Glue Dots to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap ribbon in a large loop.  Over that, I adhered some berries cut from Cajun Craze using the die in the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  There’s also a couple of Very Vanilla pine boughs and Old Olive larger berries – all from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  I used Glue Dots to stick them all on over top of the Burlap ribbon, popping the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I made a loopy-bow with some 5/8″ Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Ribbon – I made three loops on each side – in graduated sizes – and tied it closed with a piece of Jute Twine.  Then I added it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I stamped the leafy image from Count My Blessings in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla panel and colored the leaves with my Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  With my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker, I added a veritable plethora of tiny little dots all around the leaves.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Old Olive card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Early Espresso spray of leaves colored in Old Olive (remember your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig plastic sheet!) and Cajun Craze dots on the front…

…and some more of the Painted Autumn DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I just love this Count My Blessings stamp set, don’t you?  And – of course – the Painted Autumn DSP is perfect.  I hope you like!

Finn-Fan-Fix

Today, Finn got a little cheated.  Oh, he got his run this morning and evening.  And some stick keep-away with Mom.

But…the kitties got something he desperately wanted.  And they most assuredly did not!

A ride in the van.  No – the panthers aren’t fans of any ride anywhere.  But – when the destination is the….vet’s! 🙁

Yes – they had to go see their doctor, today.  Katy has an allergy – and has now had a nice steroid shot to make the itching stop.  And Leo…well.  He’s going to have to have his teeth cleaned after Thanksgiving!

Finn doesn’t care.  Needles?  Thermometer-in-rude-places!??  Stethoscope?!?

Bring it.  It’s a RIDE.  IN.  THE.  VAN!!  And….PEOPLE.  WHO.  WANT.  TO.  PET.  HIM!!

We tried to make it up to him.

I let him help me open the mail.

It was a present from my Mom.  So – he inspected it very carefully…
…all over…
…and gave it the Aussie-nibble-of-approval.
Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  1. Susan Phillips

    Beautiful card, Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. Let’s get Finn and your Mom out of the way…HE is no less cuter for your time away! Mom, what a great Mom you have to send you such a nice gift and who supports you in your blogging. Now, for your card…if this were entered in an “ugly card” contest, you would lose BIG time! As a matter of fact, every card you would enter would be a loser!! I am copying and sharing exactly 🙂 In case you didn’t catch my drift…I LOVE this card! Have a blessed day!

    • Yes, he’s adorable and time isn’t changing that! And my Mom – always my best support system. Always! And thank you so much for the so-kind words, Karen. They mean a lot to me!! 🙂

  3. Your card is beautiful Mary! Love the way that you added the ribbons and twine, great layering on those die cuts too! Glad that Finn approved of the sign…hopefully he hasn’t eaten the pilgrim! 😉

  4. Pat Christ

Beautiful card, Mary. I’m going to have me some crafty time today and will be CASEing this card. Love how you made the bow, another useful “Mary tip”.
I’m glad your kitties survived their dreadful trip to the vet. And I’m glad you have Finn to help you open your mail!
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  5. Kate

MOST beautiful card, Mary! One I would have included with the Thanksgiving sign for YOU!!!
Ah, Finn…if only you could anticipate your vet ride, you would be doubly glad to have dodged this one. However unknowingly it was ‘ cause I am sure you think in your Aussie heart that you missed a romp with Scout or a Tractor Supply sortie.

  6. Your card is absolutely beautiful. I love the message and the colors. Awwwww Finn looked happy enough to open the mail!! Maybe a Special ride in the van will be in order soon!

  7. Ellie Peckler

Mary, your card is so pretty. I really admire the way you combine different DSP, sentiments, die cuts, etc. I’ve had the burlap ribbon but haven’t used it. Now I know a nice technique. I bet Finn was so happy to get his Mom back. Wishing your family a very Happy Thanksgiving! – Ellie

    • Thank you so much, Ellie! I’m glad that you like it! He was, indeed, happy for me to get home! Happy happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Ellie! 🙂

  8. Another Beautiful Card by Mary!!! You continue to WOW me!
I KNOW how glad you are to be home and I am sure Wayne and Finn are equally happy. Too bad he missed the ride, but glad to know he will get one soon.
I may just have to CASE this one as it is! I don’t know what I could do to improve it.

  9. This is so beautiful, Mary, I love the ribbon and bow treatment on the front. And, the inside is just as pretty! So glad you are home and I know Wayne and Finn are, too! 🙂

  10. Paula

Hi Mary! Good to see you are settling in well from your long time away from home. Have been enjoying your Finn tails! Yes! I said Tails and not Tales…. Grin… couldn’t help myself.
The card is lovely and I will have to give it a try. Mine never come out quite as good as yours but I’m learning. Have a good weekend. Will we see you tomorrow night?

    • Yep – I see what you did there! 😉 I’m sure your cards are beautiful, Paula! And learning is good! Yep – planning to be live on Sunday – feels like it’s been too long! Thanks so much! 🙂
