Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek – Flying Home!

Good morning, y’all!  Hope you’re ready for a weekend!  I know I am – and I’m ready for this one in particular!  Should be headed to the airport tomorrow to fly home on Sunday!  Whoo-hoo!

I wanted to share a fun little card I made with the new 2018 Occasions stamp set that I won in a Prize Patrol last week at OnStage!  I was so excited – because I loved this set from the second they showed it on stage!

So I decided to just go ahead and make a card with it – and those absolutely adorable little birds and butterflies sort of said “inchie” to me.  I added a quick sentiment from All Things Thanks and some Night of Navy Gingham ribbon.  Take a look-see:

I started with a simple piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on Basic Black.

I stamped 9 little Flying Home images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on 9 little 7/8″ squares of Whisper White.  Each one of those squares is matted with Liquid Glue on a scalloped edge square – 1″ (hence the name!) – cut from the Layering Squares Framelits.  I let the squares be just the tiniest bit “wonky” on their mats – I kind of liked the whimsical feel of them!

I used my Light Night of Navy and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color each image and added some accents with my Night of Navy and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then I popped them all onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – creating a grid – but not a too “severe” one.  If you’ll notice, they’re not all perfectly perfect.

On the bottom of the card front, I stamped the sentiment from All Things Thanks using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  I colored just the one word with my Night of Navy Marker – cuz that’s all I wanted!

There’s another little Flying Home butterfly next to the sentiment – stamped and colored identically to the others.

I wrapped a piece of Night of Navy 1/2″ Gingham Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape, then used a second piece to tie a “faux bow” – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the butterfly several times on a Whisper White panel, added flutterby tracks with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and colored them with my Blends.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Flying Home butterflies and flutterby trails on the front…

…and on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Seriously?!?  How cute are those little guys?!?  They’re just the icing on the cake in this gorgeous Flying Home stamp set!  I hope you like – and I know you’re writing this one down for when this super catalog goes live in January!! 😉

Did you Miss the Stamparatus Reservation Yesterday?

The Next Window Opens on 5 Dec

You’ve been hearing about the new stamp-placement tool from Stampin’ Up! called the Stamparatus!!  And I know for certain sure that you want (no….need one!).  And you can reserve your very own for delivery in February!!

If you missed out on this round, don’t worry, there’ll be another reservation period starting on 5 December!

A few of you have asked questions about adding a host code to the reservation.  Since the order will not be generated and you will not be charged for the Stamparatus until they’re ready to ship, you won’t be able to add the host code until then.  This is how the ordering process will work:

  • After you get your tool reserved, you will get an email from Stampin’ Up! confirming your reservation.
  • You will get an email from Stampin’ Up! in early February letting you know that an item has been added to your shopping basket.
  • At that point, you can log into your Stampin’ Up! account in my online store and you will find the Stamparatus in your shopping bag.
  • You can add other items to your order at that time if you’d like and add a host code to it before submitting the order.  So the checkout process will work just like it always does.  You can add a host code and your payment information at the time of checkout.

Here is a quick tutorial for the reservation process:
