Stampin’ Up! Cheery Merry Little Labels for the Stamp Ink Paper #124

So – good mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday – almost the last Tuesday I’ll be in Utah.  I’ll actually admit that I’ll miss it here a little – the scenery is ridiculously gorgeous – especially when there’s some weather around!  I’m betting in the middle of July it might not be so appealing to me…

I had a happy little surprise the other day – the nice folks at Stamp Ink Paper asked me to stay on as a permanent member of their Design Team!  Sending them a big Thank You!

Our Challenge #124 this week is a theme – Girl’s Night Out!

Since I don’t have a hang-around-the-house-watching-a-movie-and-making-s’mores-and-falling-asleep-at-8 stamp set, I had to channel some more adventurous friends!  So, I used the Merry Little Labels stamp set and some fun paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

See?  It’s “girl’s” cuz of the pink.

Don’t judge – it was all I could come up with.

I’m a pretty boring person, y’all.  Sorry to have to break it to you!! 🙂

I started by Fast Fusing the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to a Powder Pink mat for the card front.

Next, I used Glue Dots to adhere a length of Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon to the card front in an oh-so-artsy manner.  Over that, with some Liquid Glue, I adhered a silver Foil Snowflake.

I inked up the Merry Little Labels sentiment in Versamark and stamped it on a piece of Powder Pink card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool.  I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die and popped it over the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a single Black Rhinestone Jewel and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I matted a Whisper White panel on a Powder Pink mat and added a thin strip of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, also matted on Powder Pink, across the bottom.  I wrapped a length of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I made a little “faux bow” with another short length of the ribbon.

.I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of strips of Washi Tape across the front – two silver strips from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape and one black-and-white strip from the Pick A Pattern Washi.  I colored the little tiny white lines with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker…

..and I added more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’m not a big drinker, but I’m certainly a big eater!!  And if staying in with the girls and watching a movie isn’t on the agenda – then going out for a good meal surely would be!  I think the Merry Little Labels captured it pretty well – and the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP certainly looks like a good time is being had.  Hope you like!

  1. Such a pretty card! Congrats on the Design Team position!! That’s awesome. 🙂 And this was a bit of a tough challenge…my “girls nights out” generally involve me and the two kids going to McDonalds and making the decision whether I want chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger! Ha! 😉

  2. Kate

    Perfect in pink!
Bit o’ snow here…suspect maybe there too.

  3. Sandra Warthen

    1. Congrats on joining the design team. 2. I love that year of cheer DSP. It makes such a pretty background. 3. You are anything but boring!

  4. Patricia

Hi Mary, I love the card & think it would make a great New Years card or even a Thanksgiving with different colors!

  5. I was hoping SIP would do that and I thank them for doing that and I thank you for accepting! It’s wonderful to see you bring your talent to the table along with my friends, Amy, Jenny and LeAnne. I’m not familiar with the other team members, but now I have a reason to check them out more closely 🙂 Congrats! Your card is lovely, by the way.

  6. Susan K

Wahoo! So happy you’re on the design team now–shows they know a good thing (cards/your creativity) when they see it. You add much to the team. I have a GNO group–we eat out once a month and play dominoes another night a month and at both gatherings, we sure eat, drink and be merry! And one of our girls is Queen of Glitz so the paper and embossing are spot on for the challenge! May CASE it to give t her! TFS.

    • Thank you so much, Susan – that’s a lovely thing to say! Sounds like you guys have a wonderful time at your GNO’s!! Hope she likes the card! 🙂

  7. Super congratulations, Mary! I think you did a super job with the theme this week! Love the fun card.

  8. Kathy L

Love this card. I have a couple of girlfriends whose birthdays are just a few days after Christmas. This would be super for either one…birthday, and with the echo of Christmas, and New Year’s to come. And we are definitely stay in, put our feet up, and watch a movie together folks!

  9. Congrats on being chosen for the design team! It is well deserved. Your card is lovely even though I don’t have much opportunity to do that. Maybe in SLC?!
