Stampin’ Up! Painted Color Me Happy Thanks

Hey, y’all!  Happy Saturday!  Hope you’ve got a fun weekend planned.  Or a restful one.  Not sure you can really do both…but if you can – more power to you!  I think I’ve got a couple hours at work then it’s laundry day!  And cards cards CARDS!

Guess what’s almost here, y’all??

Well – yes…OnStage.  But I was really thinking of….the release of the new Stampin’ Blends!!

I’m so excited for you to get them in your hot little hands – I do believe you’re going to be tickled with them!  They’re going to be available to you on the 1st – which is next Wednesday!  When they come out, there will also be a new (limited supply!!) stamp released – called Color Me Happy!

It’s chock full of wonderful, color-able, line art images for you to use with the coordinating Color Me Happy Project kit (which will ONLY be available while supplies last!!)…

…or all by itself!  Which is what I did today.  I added a little Painted Autumn DSP and a couple of sentiments from All Things Thanks and made…take a look-see:

For the layout, I borrowed the sketch from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.

So, y’all know this kind of card – where I have to build on the card front itself – strikes fear in my heart, right!?  So this one is a huge act of bravery!

I first stamped a rectangle of Whisper White card stock with the pretty flower image in the Color Me Happy set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then, using my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends, I colored the flowers.  When I was done with the Pumpkin Pie flowers, I went back over them with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blends Pen to brighten it up and give it a little peachy hue.  Then I matted the panel on a piece of Early Espresso.

The middle panel is from the Painted Autumn DSP, matted on Early Espresso.  Then I wrapped a piece of Peekaboo Peach 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around it, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  I made a faux bow by tying a short piece of the ribbon around it and pulling it snug.

For the sentiment, I pulled out my All Things Thanks stamp set and stamped it in Early Espresso on a square of Whisper White.  And matted that on Early Espresso, too.

To build the card front, I Fast Fuse’d the Color Me Happy panel directly onto the front of my Thick Whisper White card base. Then I popped the Painted Autumn panel on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and did the same with the sentiment square.

I decided it needed just a little something more, so I stamped and colored another flower from Color Me Happy, fussy cut it and adhered it with Liquid Glue and a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  I added a tiny Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the middle and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second All Things Thanks sentiment in Early Espresso on a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, I stamped a Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Color Me Happy Flower and colored it with my Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  I even added another Rhinestone Basic Jewel!

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Early Espresso Mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I stamped two more Color Me Happy flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Here’s a tip:  the plastic sheet from the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig fits inside our Medium envelopes perfectly!  Slide that in before you color the flowers with the Stampin’ Blends – it’ll protect the back of your envelope from the inevitable bleed-thru!  I used more Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie…

…and then I added a little more of the Painted Autumn DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I have the Color Me Happy Project Kit – and will be showing you the completed cards on the 1st.  But – the Color Me Happy stamp set is completely stand-alone as a wonderful set filled with beautiful images and fun sentiments.  I hope you like – and are planning to snap them up quick like a bunny come next Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Stunning Mary! The fall colors are perfect and I love the flowers. Beautifully created! 🙂

  2. YOU are amazing…and your little dog too 😉 These are not my colors but you have made me want to use them! Your coloring and fussy cutting is over the top. Wait til you see how I did with the blends…I need to practice, practice, practice! Happy laundry day for me too but fortunately, I can do it in the comfort of my own laundry room. I feel for ya. Looking forward to tomorrow night 🙂

  3. Beautiful card, and Kudos for bravery! 🙂
Thanks for the tip of using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig plastic to protect the envelope. I would have ruined one before I thought of that, even though I know they bleed through.
Have a good day with clothes and cards!

  4. Elisha

Beautiful, beautiful card! I love that DSP paired with the Blends! Well done!! I’ll think of you as I finish up the vacation laundry today – since it’s snowing in parts of Ohio today, I guess I’ll have to put my shorts in storage – ugh! Hello, winter!

  5. Beautiful job coloring, Mary. I love all of the shades you created with those markers. Fantastic!

  6. Beautiful card! So bright and cheerful! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
