Stampin’ Up! Pick a Painted Patterned Pumpkin

Mornin’, y’all!  The calendar tells me its Friday, so…happy Friday! We’re drawing to the end of week 2 here in Utah (well, after tomorrow, that is!).  Only 5 more weeks and then home to the hubby and the ponies and kitties and Finn!! 🙂  In between – we’ve got OnStage!  I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone….and getting a sneak peek of what’s coming down the pike from Stampin’ Up!

Okay – today’s card.  Now, when I started to make it, I didn’t really plan on it becoming yet another collage card.

I figure y’all are about sick to death of collage cards – with flowers and/or pumpkins and/or leaves – from me.

I mean, seriously.  What a bore – same kind of card almost every day!

But.  It’s for sure in my wheelhouse – and I like them.

So – you have to cope with yet another collage card.  With pumpkins.  And leaves.  I do think it looks quite a bit different from previous ones, though, so let’s pretend I’m just showing you how to make different looks with the same tools!

For this one, I used my current Fall go-to Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits with an assist from Painted Harvest.  Take a look-see:

I played along with two challenges with this one.  The first, which inspired my layout, is from the Global Design Project, which is a CASE the Designer challenge.

And the second was a photo challenge from The Card Concept.  I used what I’d describe as a layered collage with a rustic flavor style! 🙂

I started with a piece of the Wooden Textures DSP and Fast Fuse’d it to a Pool Party mat.  For my sentiment, I used a darker piece of the same paper, and heat embossed – in White – the sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set.  Then I Fast Fuse’d it to a Pool Party mat.

I took a silver Foil Snowflake and trimmed it down a bit, then used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.  Over that, I adhered my sentiment panel with Liquid Glue.

To make my collage, I cut a large and a star-filled pumpkin, using the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, from the same light-wood paper I’d used on the card front. I also cut a couple of the leaves in the same paper (same die set), as well as punching out a few leaves with the new Leaf Punch.

I colored the two Leaf Punch shapes with the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends (coming soon!).  I also stamped a couple of pumpkins from the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set in Pool Party on Whisper White and cut them out with their matching dies from Patterned Pumpkin.

I made the star-filled pumpkin be more solid by adhering it to a scrap of Pool Party card stock and trimming the excess with my Paper Snips.

I used Liquid Glue to start layering up my collage elements.  Before I added the star pumpkin, I stuck a couple of silver Year of Cheer Embellishments on with Glue Dots.  Take a look – you can also see a few “spears” of silver Foil Snowflake nestled in there, too.  Then I popped the star pumpkin on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added the last little pumpkin with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and one of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and added it with a Glue Dot to finish off the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Painted Harvest in Early Espresso on more of the Wood Textures DSP.  Over that I added another couple of Pool Party pumpkins from Pick a Pumpkin.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, Fast Fuse’d the front on, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another couple of Pick a Pumpkin pumpkins on the front…

…and a little more of the light Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This looks so similar – and yet so different! – from the cards I’ve been doing these last couple of days!  I hope you’re “getting” how handy and lovely the Pick a Pumpkin/Patterned Pumpkin Thinlits bundle really is – and either have it already or are busily placing an order for it!  Hope you like!

I promise to stop this collage-kick I’m on.

Well.

Probably!
