Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Hometown Greetings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

And…here’s the sketch in question!

I decided to try out the super cool Hometown Greetings Edgelits and combined it with its bundled stamp set – Hearts Come Home.  Take a look-see:

Okay – I might have taken a little liberty with the placement of the sentiment! 😉

I started with two pieces of the Merry Music Specialty DSP and matted them both on Whisper White card stock.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the smaller square onto the bigger square for the card front.

Next up – a piece of Night of Navy card stock.  Across the top, I cut the stars image from Hometown Greetings Edgelits a few times.  I adhered a small rectangle of Silver Foil behind the panel with Liquid Glue – for shiny stars!

I matted that on another piece of Whisper White and then adhered it to the card front.

For my “town” – I cut two pieces of Whisper White with just two of the dies in the Hometown Greetings Edgelits.  The one in the back, with the church, is the same width as the Night of Navy panel. The front scene is the same width as the entire card base (4 1/4″).

I used a small piece of Painted Autumn DSP and adhered it behind the church windows.  Then I adhered the die-cut piece directly to the Night of Navy panel with Liquid Glue.

On the “front” piece, I adhered pieces of Night of Navy behind the windows – I wanted the town to look as if no one was home.  Everyone is at church!

See? 🙂

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position and stamp the Hearts Come Home sentiment in Night of Navy across the bottom of the panel and popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a single silver star Metallic Enamel Shape and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again and stamped a second Hearts Come Home sentiment in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  Across the bottom, I added Night of Navy stars – also from Hearts Come Home.

I added another silver star Metallic Enamel Shape, Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Whisper White mat and into my Basic Black card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Hearts Come Home stars in Night of Navy across the front…

…and I added some more of the Merry Music Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How wonderful is this bundle of Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown Greetings Edgelits?  It makes creating a snowy Christmas Eve a cinch, wouldn’t you say?  Hope you like!

  1. My set and paper will arrive Saturday 🙂 I hope your team leader will be lax on the placement of the sentiment as it would have covered up your town that is so wonderfully created. I like that everyone is at church! I wonder what My Town will look like 😉

  2. That’s awesome Mary!! Love the winter scene that you’ve created, perfectly layered and stamped. 🙂

Mary, I love the blue and green quilted card, but I cannot find the measurements. Please send or tell me where they are. When I call up our blog, it is a long strip in the meddle of the page and totally unreadable. Thanks much, Jan email- artisticstamper@gmail.com
