Stampin’ Up! Carols of Christmas and a Foil Frenzy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Kristi’s on vacation, but all the other ladies are hopping today, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

We had a color challenge this week – and they’re colors I really love together!

But – I love them so much that when I made my card, I used Kraft and Crumb Cake!  Which I realized as I was typing this post.  LOL!  Hmmmm – well, you’ll have to squint your eyes and pretend you’re seeing Soft Suede!

I used the Carols Of Christmas stamp set and some dies from the matching (and bundled!) Card Front Builder Thinlits to make my card today.  And I put it all together with some Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

My layout was inspired by the sketch at this week’s Fab Friday challenge.

I started with a piece of Foil Frenzy DSP in the Soft Sky foil and ran it thru the Big Shot with the uber-cool frame die from the Card Front Builder Thinlits.  You do that twice – reversing the die for the second pass to hit the other end of the panel.  It’s not hard to line up – but it helps to use your Magnetic Platform or a sticky note to hold it in place!

I wrapped a piece of Soft Sky 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon thru the slots created by the die and secured it in the back with tape.  Then I popped the panel onto a Pear Pizzazz mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut two of the tree die cuts from the Card Front Builder Thinlits out of Pear Pizzaz card stock.  The double tree shape I adhered to the card front with a little Liquid Glue – sliding it under the ribbon.  The other tree I set aside for a minute.

I inked up the sentiment from Carols of Christmas in Versamark and stamped it on a piece of Crumb Cake (which should have been Soft Suede!).  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up with my Heat Tool.  I cut it with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelit and then cut the largest scalloped circle in the Circles Layering Framelits from Pear Pizzazz and adhered the sentiment to that mat.

I popped the matted sentiment over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added the final tree with a little Liquid Glue and a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  Finally, I tied a bow with the Soft Sky ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I simply cut the Card Front Builder frame from a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and into my Soft Sky card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Medium Whisper White Envelope got a couple of little flourish images from Carols of Christmas in Soft Sky ink on the front…

…and I added a bit more of the Soft Sky Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Man – oh – man!  I am loving this Carols of Christmas bundle with the Card Front Builder Thinlits – especially the Thinlits!!  How great are they?!?  And – you guys are going to be able to order them starting next week!!  Whooo-hoooo!!
