Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday To You Gorgeous!

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Not sure we’re hitting the dog show today, cuz we’re supposed to get some weather around lunch time.  Guess we’ll see how the day progresses!

For my card today, I pulled out the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and the Happy Birthday Thinlits die to make a bright and pretty birthday card.  Take a look-see:

I drew inspiration for the layout from the Sketch Saturday challenge – I just turned it on its side:

And my colors are from the MFT Color Challenge:

I started with a piece of Powder Pink paper from the new Fresh Florals DSP Stack (avail 1 June) and SNAILd it to a Basic Gray mat for the card front.

On my Whisper White art panel, I first stamped a few flowers from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous (avail 1 June) – I stamped the outline in Basic Gray Archival Ink and the fill image in Powder Pink.

I matted the panel on Basic Gray and popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the coordinating Happy Birthday Thinlits – I cut one in Berry Burst card stock (1 June) and one in Peekaboo Peach.  Then I used a bit of Liquid Glue to adhere them together – offsetting them a little to make a shadow.  Then I adhered it to the panel with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the large and small flowers from Happy Birthday Gorgeous in Berry Burst and Peekaboo Peach on Whisper White and fussy cut them.  Then I popped them on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added Peekaboo Peach Enamel Shapes to the centers.

The last thing I did was to add the Happy Birthday Gorgeous sentiment in Berry Burst under the die cut sentiment.

On the inside, I added a balloon from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  I stamped the dotted image in Peekaboo Peach on a Whisper White panel, then I added the second image in Basic Gray Archival Ink.  Finally, I added the little tassel image in Berry Burst.

I SNAILd the panel to a Basic Gray mat and into my Berry Burst card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few more Happy Birthday Gorgeous balloons in Peekaboo Peach, Powder Pink and Basic Gray on the front…

…and I added a little more of the Fresh Florals DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Balloons, flowers, sentiments galore!  What’s not to love about the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and its bundled Happy Birthday Thinlits (yep – bundled so you can get them both and save 10%!).  Hope you like and are adding these to your wish list!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Well, construction on the patio continues apace – regardless of the hot and humid weather we’re having.

Wayne put in a new faucet near the area where my elevated gardens will be.

Fortunately – he had an assist from the WBQA2 CEO…

Once he and Wayne had filled the hole in, he took advantage of the cool dirt…Check.  The.  Hands.

Just chillaxin’ here, Mom!

  1. Awesome card Mary! The clean design is perfect and I love your sentiment! And the little boss with his hands crossed as he waits is just too cute. 🙂

    • I know – I was so tickled that he didn’t move when I got up out of the chair to take that picture!! “Little Boss”. That pretty much covers it, too! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. When I saw the color challenge, I couldn’t quite figure out what to do with the Peekaboo Peach. You made it rock! I love the shadow effect on the Happy Birthday. I also like that you turned the sketch. I can’t wait to get my little mitts on that DSP. Speaking of little Mitts, the CEO has some really sweet ones. I think he’s keeping his fingers crossed, hoping that if he does a good job, he’ll get a Milk Bone 😉 Have a great Saturday no matter what you do.

    • Thanks so much, Karen! I love that die – and the new Fresh Florals DSP is really pretty! Yes – the CEO’s mitts are adorable. Possibly the cutest paws ever!! And – he’s pretty certain he’ll get a Milk Bone. We should buy stock in Mini Milk Bones!! 🙂

Cute pic of the CEO! Love your card. When I saw that challenge I thought “Eeew”, but you pulled it off nicely. It would be a challenge for me for sure, but yours looks fantastic.

  4. Kathleen VanDeVeere

    Beautiful.
Be safe in the weather and keep the workmen close.

  5. Ellie Peckler

Such a pretty card and once again I love your color choices. And Finn is a very proper CEO! – Ellie
