Stampin’ Up! April Paper Pumpkin Sneak Peek – It’s A Sara Thing!

Good morning, y’all.  It’s the weekend and it’s looking beautiful here in Georgia.   Should be some lovely sunrise services tomorrow!

Oh yea – it’s also Tax Day.  Bleh…

So yesterday, I’d just sat down to make a card for today, when my husband came in with the mail.  And guess what he handed me?

Yup!  My April Paper Pumpkin.  Well, after all the hype – I was pretty excited to open it up and see what Sara had put together for us!  And I wasn’t disappointed!

WARNING – SPOILER AHEAD!!  If you want to savor the excitement a little longer….close your eyes and scroll down to the Finn Fann Fix!  Otherwise, read on for a peek!

I opened up the Green and Black box and found…

Enough fun goodies to make 12 cards and envelopes (and….no nekkid envelopes, either!!).

I got down to business.  This is a watercolor kit, y’all!  Guess what the free gift from Sara was?

Little watercolor pencils!  In Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point.

She even included a watercolor brush and instructions on how to color the cards.  A few of the cards are made with emboss resist paper!

I got a little jiggy with a few of the cards – turning them on end, crookedy-izing a couple of card fronts, changing up a few sentiments.

Speaking of which…

…lots of options!

The other set uses some basic watercoloring with the pencils.  I messed up a couple of the banners – wasn’t thinking it thru very well and I was changing up sentiments.  I added the word “friend” from the Thoughtful Banner stamp set! 😉

So I ended up with 8 cards and some leftovers to use to put together a few alternatives!

I also added a few extra little splatters  – from the included stamp set – on the inside of the cards, in Melon Mambo, Pacific Point or Daffodil Delight, depending on the card front!

All in all – definitely worth the build up, y’all!  This is a really fun little kit – and one I can see buying a refill for – or even a few extra complete kits!

So…hope you were signed up in time to get this one!  It’s pretty and fun and you’re going to like it a lot.

Finn-Fan Fix…

In case you haven’t realized it, Finn is a giver.

A giver of lickings.

A giver of hair.

A giver of muddy paw prints.

And – a giver of attention.

Today – he’s sharing the spotlight with his feline brother and sister (which is actually not even possible, but – he thinks they’re related).

Leo and Katy were piled up on the back of the sofa – we call it the kitty hammock.  Usually it’s only Leo but Katy’s been coveting the spot lately.

That’s Katy laying atop her brother (they really are related!).  Leo looks thrilled, doesn’t he?  Maybe it’s because I was taking their picture…

Finn’s glad you got to see them.

See how glad?

I actually like these cards, even though they are not ‘my style’. Never hurts to get out of the rut. I signed up for 3 mo. PP. We’ll see whether or not I continue. I am just enough of a rebel that I don’t want someone elses ideas to totally be what I use. BUT, if I have the freedom to put my own twist on them, well, that’s another story. Jury probably will be out on this until the 3 months have expired.
I think I have seen Finn glad, and I don’t think this is it! Cute cats. ‘Course I’m partial as I have a b/w cat too.

    • I know – I feel the same way. Not really my cup of tea, but…I like them nonetheless! Quite a bit, really! 🙂 Thanks, Julie!
