Stampin’ Up! Lovely Inside & Out Sneak Peek!

Friday again, folks!  Hope you’ve had a great week and are looking forward to an even better weekend.  Do you all have plans for Easter?  We’re headed to our friends’ house for dinner – and a playdate for Finn!  I know he’d be looking forward to it if he could only hear something besides:  “waaa-waaa-waa-wa, Finny, waa waa-wa-waaa.  Finny wa Scout”.  But I know he’s going to have a good day! 🙂

I put together another 2017-2018 Annual Catalog sneak peek for you today.  This one is a fun little bundle called Lovely Inside & Out.  I used it and the new Lemon-Lime Twist to make a quick and easy little card to send to any friend who needs a hug.  Take a look-see:

My layout is inspired by the sketch challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch:

And I played along with the color scheme from the Color Throwdown:

I’ve been wanting to try to do something with the new Lemon-Lime Twist color since I saw it – it’s so far out of my wheelhouse…I can’t even see it from there.  But…I’m really liking it, so… this challenge gave me the excuse I needed.  I added some Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry along with it.

This is a fun set – the dies cut a negative from a piece of card stock.  You can leave it like that – or cut it with a matching die from the Ovals or Circles Layering Framelits or the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.

This card was fast and easy!

I started with a Whisper White panel and, using the fun “burst” image in the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set, I stamped a few times here and there with Crushed Curry and Lemon-Lime Twist.  Then I matted the panel on a piece of Lemon-Lime Twist.  Bold.  Yes, I know!

Next, I cut the “hugs” die from a piece of Calypso Coral card stock, then I cut that out with a 2 5/8″ Circles Layering Framelits die.

I inked up the sentiment that says “sending you” with Calypso Coral, then covered the word “you” with a sticky note and stamped it on the card front, positioning it with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.

Then I adhered the Lovely Words die cut with a little bit of Liquid Glue.

The little embellishment is from the Color Theory Memories & More Card Pack.  I just stuck it on the card and then added a new Crushed Curry Glitter Enamel Dot to the center.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the “burst” again in Crushed Curry and Lemon-Lime Twist.  Then, cuz I’d been experimenting with the dies in the set a little bit, so I had it, I adhered “friend” with a little bit of Liquid Glue.

I SNAILd it to a Lemon-Lime Twist mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added a couple more “bursts”…

…and then I added even more to the envelope flap.  And – I also added a couple more sentiments from Lovely Inside & Out in Calypso Coral.

Et Voila!  I gotta say – this one grew on me.  I never would have put these colors together on my own, but…I really really love how they’re working.  And the graphic images in this little bundle are just flat fun.  Hope you like – and will add this one to your wish list! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix…

We already know that it’s figment-season, right?

Well – those things were up to no good today!

They required running….

Leaping…

And a lot of bounding.  Some of those figments fly – did you know that?

Well, it’s true.  Fortunately, Finn has springs for legs and can boing his way down the trail as needed to keep them in sight.

Don’t ever expect a picture of that, y’all.  There’s no possible way I’d ever be in position to take that one!  Also, it causes me to laugh like a loon, which is tough for taking pictures!

Figment chasing is also hard work – makes a guy hot.  The only solution is….

Not quite yet, Mom.  Please?!?! 😉

I’m starting to love that lemon-lime twist color; your card design is a winner and makes me think I would really enjoy this bundle! What great action shots of Finn chasing those nasty figments! I’m hoping that you WILL be able to treat us with photos of him “boinging” along after those varmints! LOL

    • I need a go-Pro or something to wear on my head, always filming him!! THEN I could probably get a shot of the boing! 🙂 Thanks much, Rita! 🙂

  3. Elisha

Yes, bold! Yes, nice, and that was one of the sets of which they showed samples at On Stage. Was that shown for you guys at Savannah? or was it just taped for everyone for later? They were in Amsterdam?
I’m not crazy about the lemon lime twist, actually if there would be a color I hated, that would be it. However, you used it well with the coral and curryl, showing me that it is usable! i don’t HAVE to love it to use it.

  6. juliejphoto

Curry, not curryl or curly! That Finn! I just love to watch a dog run.

  7. Oh, I really like this! Pretty cool!

  8. I love your card! The bright colors are awesome…so glad that you’re changing your mind about Lemon Lime Twist! 🙂 Love the pictures of Finn running like a crazy man. His solution to being hot works for me too! 🙂

  9. Great take on the sketch!
