Stampin’ Up! Window Shopping Birthday Candles – Two Ways!

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  I’m one day and a wake-up away from heading to Savannah!  OnStage here I come!  Oh – and CenterStage, too!!  Whoo-hoo!  When I get back, I’m gonna be full of new ideas and in possession of the new catalog, some fun swag (stamp sets and new papers and….oh, who knows what goodness there will be!!)  I tell ya – it’s a great time of the year to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!! 🙂

My card for today comes from the Window Shopping bundle – available now in the Occasions catalog as a 10% off bundle! – and is a quick and easy Birthday card!  Take a look-see:

Pssst…that’s Night of Navy even though it looks like its black! 🙂

I did a CASE-piration from the Succeed Magazine (Stampin’ Up! publication for demonstrators) for the idea for the card.

The color scheme is from the Global Design Project color challenge this week…

I made this card as a smaller Note Card – perfect for adding to the inside of a gift box!

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock.  First, I cut the Window Box Thinlits candles and then I stamped the sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set in Night of Navy, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position it where I wanted it.

Behind the candles, using some dabs of Liquid Glue, I adhered a small piece of So Saffron card stock (behind the flames) and a piece of Night of Navy card stock (behind the candles).  Then I SNAILd the panel to a So Saffron mat and then to a Night of Navy mat.

I wrapped a piece of Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel and tied a small bow.  To finish it off, I used my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker to gently color the bottom parts of the sentiment.  I added a few So Saffron Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the cupcake image from the Window Shopping stamp set across the bottom of a Whisper White panel in So Saffron.

I SNAILd the panel to So Saffron and Night of Navy mats and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

I used an envelope from the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes set, and stamped more So Saffron Window Shopping cupcakes across the front…

And I added a second Window Shopping sentiment in Night of Navy to the envelope flap, plus another couple of cupcakes.

Here’s where I’d usually say “Et Voila!” – but first…

I made the same card – but used Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette to make it a more feminine card!  Same.  Exact.  Card.  Different color scheme!  Easy Peasy!

Et Voila!  This is a really fun bundle – and this card doesn’t even get to the actual box that’s made with the Window Box Thinlits.

Hope you like!

Apparently he thought that he might get a piece of the fish from his mom.  Who started a diet this week.  And finds herself a little hangry at times.

Great card!! I love it that you showed two versions😉 Have a great time at On Stage! I’m sitting this one out😞 Oh the begging face – how pitiful! I don’t know how you could resist that sweet face 😂

    • Well, I was pretty hungry and it was a pretty small piece of fish, so… I just had to harden my heart! But it wasn’t easy! Thanks much, Elisa! Maybe we’ll see you in November in Utah!! 🙂

  2. As soon as I saw your card, I knew it was for GDP! I love this DSP and thank you for showing me a card done with that stamp set and dies. I like that you did a feminine version too. Have fun at On Stage AND Center Stage. I’m sure you will post pics…well, at least I hope you will 😉

  4. Love your cards today! The clean designs are perfect, love the colors too! Yep…we have the begging face at our table too. Only Ginny has figured out if she stands next to one kids, she can pick up the crumbs and bits that fall on the floor before I even notice they’re there! 🙂

Love the 2 versions of a great simple (?) card. Very elegant and un-fussy, but, oh, so nice.
did you see what I posted yesterday on AIK? (not fishing, but would like your honest opinion)
    Those begging eyes! 🙂
Not a good idea to start a diet then go off to a big PARTY! For gosh sakes! They will have good food there! And, most likely, not the diet kind.

    • Definitely simple, Julie!! Thanks much! I did see your card and it’s beautiful! Diet. Always bad – party or no. Probably be on Diet-Hiatus starting when I get in the car on Friday! 🙂

    Finnius lovely as usual.
Heading to Red Hat after couple biggish rounds of snow. Coming back if I don’t like it!

  8. Great and fun cards, Mary! Love the idea of having 2 at a time to use! The die cuts make them really awesome!

  9. What a great card Mary. Love your colour choice and the cupcakes inside your card are just adorable. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge!

  10. I love your card! Night of navy is my favourite colour!!!
