Stampin’ Up! Hello You Succulent Blooms for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good morning, y’all – welcome to the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! This week we’re heralding the arrival of Spring.  I know that a bunch of you are under the white stuff and it’s cold here – but Spring is surely just around the corner!  I know all our ladies will have some fantastic spring-y projects for you today, so I hope you’ll spend some time scrolling thru all their offerings.

I used the Succulent Framelits and the Hello You Thinlits, with some Blooms & Bliss DSP to make my card.  And – this is kinda cool…there’s no stamping in the whole card!! Take a look-see:

I played along with a couple of challenges.  The first helped me with the layout and was from the CASE This Sketch challenge.

And, I also played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge…

I borrowed a little design element from Mary Fish’s pretty card from the other day.  You can check that one out right here!

So – I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock for the card front, and I added a diagonal piece of Blooms & Bliss DSP across the bottom.  Then I cut a second – slightly darker – piece of the same DSP to make the darker portion (to work with the sketch).

Then I SNAILd the whole panel to a Mint Macaron mat and popped it on my Island Indigo card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Yes, I know – I’ve said in my videos that I don’t put the card front on until I’ve done the inside.  But – in this case – I needed to, in order to accommodate the “off the edge” elements of the card!

I was nervous, I’m not gonna lie! 😉

I wrapped a piece of Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon around the “seam” I’d created, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

My sentiment is cut using the Hello You Thinlits.  I cut it three times – once in Mint Macaron and twice in Island Indigo – then I used little dabs of Liquid Glue to adhere them in a stack.  Then I adhered the whole thing to the card front with more Liquid Glue.  There’s some little teensy pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the very ends of the word (where they “fall” off the edge of the card front and needed some support).

For my flowers….I cut three Stitched Shaped circles from Whisper White card stock.  In the middle of each, I used  the small “flower”-looking die in the Succulent Framelits set to cut a “negative” space.  Next, I cut three scalloped edge circles, using the Circles Layering Framelits, from So Saffron paper in the Subtles DSP Stack.

I adhered the circles together and then used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick them on the card front.

I added the cut out Succulent “flowers” – plus a few extra that I cut out, using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added some Daffodil Delight, So Saffron and Island Indigo Enamel shapes to the flower centers and the card front was done!

On the inside, I cut a Succulent Framelits flower from the corner of a Whisper White panel.  Behind it, I added a little square of So Saffron Subtles DSP with a little Liquid Glue.  I also cut a couple more Succulent Framelits flowers and added them as well.  Then I gave them each an Enamel Shapes center!

I adhered the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and into the Island Indigo card base and that was it for the card.

My Whisper White Envelope got some of the Succulent Framelits flowers, cut from So Saffron DSP, on the front. I used Liquid Glue and trimmed the excess with my Paper Snips…

…then I added some more of the So Saffron DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Does it say “Spring” to you?  It does to me!  I love the negative space Succulent “flowers” in the crisp Whisper White Stitched Shapes circles.  Hope you like!
