Stampin’ Up! Special Reason Glimmer Thanks!

Good morning – back to “normal”! Safe and easy 7 hours home yesterday.  Good to get out of the car!

Finn tidbit down below!

My card for today uses my fave (well…one of them, certainly!) bundle from the Occasions catalog and the wonderful, sparkly new Glimmer Paper coming on 21 Feb!  Special Reasons and the Stylish Stems Framelits pair up with the All Things Thanks set.  Take a look-see:

My layout – plus some color and “element” inspiration came from the Sugar Pea Designs Mix It Up Challenge!

I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock and, using the detailed die in the Stylish Stems Framelits, I cut two flowers in the panel.

Then I cut a Smoky Slate panel – as the mat – and SNAILd a piece of the new (21 Feb!) Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Pack paper in Sweet Sugarplum to it – making sure it was placed so that it was behind the flowers I’d just cut out.  Then I popped the Whisper White panel over the whole thing with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut several Stylish Stems leaves from the Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper.

The sentiment, from the All Things Thanks stamp set, is stamped in Smoky Slate ink on a banner cut from a piece of Blushing Bride card stock.  I cut the banner first – punching the end with the Banner Triple Punch.  As a result, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the sentiment on my banner.  And, since the Smoky Slate was a little light – I stamped it twice to get a little extra ooomph!

I used a piece of Mint Macaron 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon – I snipped a banner on one end, and rolled the other end under (securing it with a Glue Dot).  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhered my leaves here and there with Liquid Glue, and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I adhered a Sweet Sugarplum Glitter Paper Stylish Stem flower and a couple of Mint Macaron leaves to a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I SNAILd the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Blushing Bride card base, SNAILd the card front on – and that was it for the card!

The front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Sweet Sugarplum flower from the Special Reason stamp set, plus (with the help of a sticky note mask over the flower) a couple of Mint Macaron leaves….

…and I scattered a whole flower bush’s worth of Mint Macaron leaves on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I was already in love with the Special Reason and Stylish Stems bundle and deeply in love with the new Glimmer Paper.  But – put them together?!?  Oh yea!!  Hope you like! 🙂

Fortunately, his fortitude wasn’t tested cuz I called his name and he came flying.  At like…90 miles an hour!

And he was doing his little Finn-grin.  He pulls his lips back from his front teeth – top AND bottom in this case – and looks like he’s smiling.

I’d have taken a picture, but…I was pretty busy bracing for the impact of 60 pounds of dog flying at 90 mph! 🙂  Once we made contact, there was lots of wiggling and smiling!!

Later, though, he went from doing man-business to helping his mom.  He’s a well-rounded helper!

I don’t know if your dishes need to be pre-rinsed before they go in the dishwasher, but – apparently ours do! 

He’s gotten quite adept at knowing when they’re dirty (and need pre-treating) and when they’re clean (and he’s likely to get scolded for pre-treating!)
