Stampin’ Up! Suite Seasons Petal Burst Thanksgiving for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Let’s start out by saying….Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!  We all sure do appreciate you taking time out of your holiday preparations to see what we’ve come up with for today’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop! 🙂

We had a sketch to work with today…

I took a little bit of liberty with it – hope you’ll forgive me – as I made a Thanksgiving card for you today.  I combined the Suite Seasons stamp set and the Petal Burst TIEF and created this.  Take a look-see:

My color palette draws from the TGIF Inspiration photo this week:

And my inspiration for the Thankful theme comes from the CAS-ual Fridays challenge:

To make my card front, I sponged directly on the Petal Burst TIEF with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie.  When you do this, be sure you’re sponging on the Embossing side (with the printing on it).  I carefully laid a Very Vanilla panel in the TIEF, closed it and ran it thru the Big Shot!  Then I matted the panel on Rich Razzleberry card stock.

The middle element is made up of a strip of Rich Razzleberry and one of Crushed Curry.  I ran both card stock strips thru the Petal Burst TIEF and then SNAILd them one on top of the other down the middle of the panel.  Over that I laid a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Finally, I added some Rich Razzleberry 3/8″ Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog – also secured in the back with scotch tape.

For my sentiment, I used my Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the words on the stamp from Suite Seasons and stamped it on Very Vanilla.  I cut the sentiment out with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I also cut scalloped-edge ovals from the Ovals Layering Framelits in Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry.  I matted the sentiment on both scalloped ovals, and then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The little wooden heart is from the Sending Love Embellishments in the 2017 Occasions Catalog – I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Markers to color the design a little – and adhered it with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to color the little decoration on the sentiment stamp and stamped that on the top and the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel.

Then I matted the panel on Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry and SNAILd it into my Early Espresso card base.  For the front, I SNAILd a piece of Crushed Curry card stock to the front of the card, then popped my Petal Burst embossed card front on top of that with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card.

The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a reprise of the Suite Seasons decoration in Crushed Curry on the front…

…and on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A fall-leaves-inspired card entreating us to always give thanks for everything – and it’s especially true on this Holiday!  I hope you’re with family and friends – and will please take a moment when you sit down to dinner to remember our men and women in the military who will not be home today.  They remain in harm’s way around the world, so we may have this day and every day in safety and freedom. 🙂

  1. Mary, this is such an eye catching card with the way you used the colors and embossing folder. I hope to CASE it. Rich Razzleberry is one of my favorite colors. I hope you and your family have a blessed thanksgiving and that Finn does not become the turkey of the day 😉 Just kidding, Finn! You are a cute and funny pup.

    • We’re making sure he gets enough exercise this morning so he’ll be a calm and sleepy puppy this afternoon! Thank you so much, Karen – have fun with the CASE! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! 🙂
