Stampin’ Up! So In Love Sneak Peek!

Hey, y’all – how goes the weekend for you?  We had hephalumps and woozles flying by all day!  That is to say…it was windy as all get out on Saturday!  And the cold front came thru overnight – teasing us with clouds on Saturday morning.  But it was a total tease – not a drop dropped on us.

Finn was introduced to the joy of having leaves (i.e.: toys!) falling all willy and nilly from the sky and blowing hither and yon.  He liked it just fine!  Did a lot of leaping about and snatching them from mid-air!  I tried to get a picture of him, but…I was laughing too hard and he was galumphing about too much.  So…I captured him when we sat down to do our blog post.

Chasing leaves is hard work.  He delegated the blog post to me, because blogging is also hard work.  Especially if you have paws for hands and no thumbs.  Gives a whole new meaning to “hunt and peck”! 🙂  He’s laying plastered up against the chair in the kitchen where I work during the week and do much of my our blogging.  I’m in my spot and he’s in his.  It floors me how quickly we’ve all fallen into the routine – especially him.  And how much I love the little mongrel already!

My card for today is not a Thanksgiving card.  Nope.  You’ll see a couple more of those before the big day – hope your turkey is thawing! – but for today…how’s about a sneak peek of a beautiful new Suite in the Occasions Catalog?  Falling In Love…is a soft and romantic suite.  I used the stamp set called So in Love and the gorgeous Falling in Love DSP.  And called on the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for a sentiment.

A very good friend of mine is getting married in February and I’ll need a card.  I figure I can make a few between now and then and pick “the one” when we get closer!

The design for my card comes from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week.

I started with a piece of the Falling In Love DSP, SNAILing it to a Sahara Sand card stock mat.  To make the center element, I laid down two pieces of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim, wrapping it in the back and securing it with scotch tape.  Over that went two pieces of Very Vanilla 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.

I pulled out the fun 3-D heart edgelit die from another Occasions Catalog goody – the Love Notes Framelits – and cut another design in the Falling In Love DSP.  Then I adhered it over the top of my ribbon and lace.

Next came a pretty Falling In Love Embellishment, adhered with a Glue Dot.  Then I added a little bow from the Very Vanilla 1/2 Lace Trim.

My sentiment is cut with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits from a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and two from Soft Sky card stock.  Before I cut the Dazzling Diamonds piece, I tapped the Glimmer Paper with my Sahara Sand ink pad, to quiet it down a bit.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them into a stack and then onto the card front.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the So In Love stamp set in Sahara Sand, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  Next to the sentiment – again using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added a little flousigh in Soft Sky.

I SNAILd the panel to a Sahara Sand mat, then to a Soft Sky mat and then into my Very Vanilla card base.  I SNAILd a panel of Soft Sky card stock to the front of the card, then popped my completed card front onto that with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a couple more of the So In Love flourishes in Soft Sky on the front…

…and some more of the Falling in Love DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! This is such a gorgeous suite of products – the Falling In Love paper is especially lovely.  I can’t wait for you to see it in person!  It all came together so beautifully on this card, I think – perfect to celebrate a wedding.  Hope you like!
