Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up, Up & Away….Sneak Peek!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is progressing nicely towards the weekend – and the commencement of “Thanksgiving Week”!

Today (well, Tuesday, when I wrote this), was a big day for Finn.  In every farm dog’s life comes the moment when they discover…

The Horse Hoof Paring!

Yes.  It’s a treat of delicious and delectable stinky delightfulness.  And Finn found one early in his time here.  He brought it inside and chewed it and chewed it.  And set it aside for later.  Then found it again.  He took it to bed.  He took it outside and brought it back in.  It lasted him till just a couple of days ago.

Today – he discovered the source.

I call this one “In Which Finn-Chewie Discovers the Source of the Hoof Treat”

Of course, when you’re just a little kid, shoeing horses is hard work.  Even when your contribution is to be cute and watch politely from a distance.  Wears a puppy out!

What you can’t see is that he’s holding the leash in his mouth!  He’s a bit goofy, there’s no doubt!

So, once he was done shoeing and chewing (hence Finn-Chewie!), we went in the house for him to have another nap and for me to make a card!

I wanted to do another little Sneak Peek for you, so I pulled out the fun Lift Me Up Bundle with the stamp set and the Up & Away Framelits (these will be sold together for $53 for the wood bundle and $45.75 for the Clear bundle).  I added in the really fun Carried Away DSP (which is one of the offerings you’ll be able to get for free when Sale-A-Bration begins on 4 Jan!).  Take a look-see:

So – I used a sketch from Retro Sketches to help with my card layout.

The colors are inspired by the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge….

And it played well with the Just Us Girls Trend Week:

We saw this great Carried Away DSP at OnStage Live – and I loved that they’d built a full “scene” with the paper – with houses and trees and mountains near the bottom and clouds and balloons near the top.  I used that to my advantage, cutting a piece for my card front, ensuring I had some of each.  Then I SNAILd it to a Tempting Turquoise card stock mat.

For the middle elements of the sketch, I first SNAILd a strip of Tempting Turquoise across the card and then wrapped a length of Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon around that, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Next I wrapped a length of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon around (one above and one below the wider ribbon), securing them in the back with more tape.  Under the wide ribbon, I wrapped a double length of Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine and Gold Baker’s Twine three times around and then secured those with tape.  While I had the twines out, I made a double bow and set it aside for later.

I made the balloon using the large die from the Up & Away Framelits, cutting it from Gold Foil.  Using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the balloon to a piece of Tempting Turquoise and then fussy cut around the shape.

Pretty die cut, isn’t it?

I popped my balloon over the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals and went on to make my sentiment.

Using the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set, I stamped it in Tempting Turquoise on a Whisper White strip.  I fussy cut banner ends, edged the entire banner with my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Then I added the little bow I’d cut earlier with a dab of the glue.

At this point, I could have been done.  But…I’d spied a little tiny cloud image in the Lift Me Up set, and a matching die in Up & Away.

So….I stamped a bunch of the little cloud images in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White, and cut them with the matching die.  Then I adhered them over some of the printed clouds on the DSP.  And then I was done!

I think that little cloud may be my fave in this catty – like the little spider from the Jar of Haunts set in the Holiday Catalog.  Hopefully it won’t be in such a hurry to get away from me and hide! 🙂

On the inside, I SNAILd a strip of the Carried Away DSP to a strip of Tempting Turquoise – making sure I had “ground”.  On the top of a Whisper White panel, I stamped the smaller balloon image in Lift Me Up in Versamark, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the image.  Around that I stamped some more of the little Tempting Turquoise clouds.  Then I added a second sentiment in Tempting Turquoise and a Night of Navy Heart Enamel Shape.

I SNAILd the panel to a Tempting Turquoise mat, SNAILd my matted DSP strip to the panel and then adhered the whole thing into my Night of Navy card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I repeated the Gold heat embossed Lift Me Up balloon on the front, plus a few more Tempting Turquoise clouds…

…and then added some more Carried Away DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This card barely scratches the surface of what you’re going to be able to do with this bundle!  And when you add the Sale-A-Bration Carried Away DSP to it…well.  It’s just too cool!  Hope you like!

STITCHED SHAPES FRAMELITS UPDATE

Stampin’ Up! is happy that the Stitched Shapes Framelits have been so well received.  And while they thought they had sufficient inventory to last through the end of the year, the supply sold out in about two weeks!  From the beginning of the promotion, they could see that sales were exceeding their forecasts, and they immediately sent in a second shipping order.  Since then, sales have continued to increase.

Because of the extreme demand, the Stitched Shapes Framelits (item 145372) are currently on backorder and will be placed on non-orderable status on November 21, 2016, at 10:00 AM (MT).  After Monday, when you enter this product’s item number in, you will receive a pop-up notification asking if you would like to be notified via email when this product is back in stock.  This allows you to find out immediately when the item’s status changes and it is again available for purchase.

Click here or on the image below to go right to my online store to order the die set if you’d like to be able to order before the number is turned off.  The number will be turned off on Monday and you won’t be able to order them until the supply is replenished.  I’ve made several cards in the past few days with these great Framelits if you need some motivation to get them ordered before you can’t! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! gave us an estimated arrival date of 28 Nov for the shipment of dies.  Hopefully they’ll be back in stock that day or very soon after, so there’s not too much time before you can get them!
