Stampin’ Up! Spooky Halloween Treat!

Good Tuesday!  Hope you’re having a good week so far!

So…y’all know the problem with having a new puppy?  Yep.  That’s all you want to do – play with the puppy, pet the puppy, watch the puppy, take the puppy for walks, laugh at the puppy playing, kiss the puppy nose, yada yada yada.  Makes it extremely hard to do anything else – there just isn’t time! 🙂

Finn – yes, we settled on that, and even used that name at the vet today.  Went to get some flea medicine.  Found out my little puppy weighs 34 pounds!  At 4 months!  I think we settled on Finn too quickly – maybe needs to be Bruno.  Bruiser.  Rocky Balboa.  The Rock!  He’s gonna be huge!

But, for now…he maintains his puppy cute…

That’s his new favorite spot – curled right up against the water dish – usually with his ear draped over the edge.  Makes it easy to get a little slurp whenever the mood strikes, doncha know? 🙂

So, in between puppy lovin’s today, I made y’all a quick Halloween card!  This one is one layer.  Almost literally!  Totally a one-postage-stamp card for sure!  It uses the a la carte stamp called Halloween Treat and some pumpkins from Spooky Fun.  Take a look-see:

This one works with the Global Design Project challenge #058:

gdp-058-sketch
For the card front, I stamped my design directly to the front of my Crumb Cake card base.  Using the trio-of-pumpkins image from Spooky Fun, I stamped it across the panel in Pumpkin Pie ink.

I colored the pumpkins using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, picking ink up from the lid of my stamp pads.  I colored the middle pumpkin in Calypso Coral, the one on the left (as you look at the card) in Pumpkin Pie, and the other one in Tangerine Tango.  Then I colored the stems in Old Olive with my Stampin’ Write Marker.  For fun, I added faces to a few of the pumpkins, using the images from Spooky Fun, stamping them in Basic Black Archival Ink.

For the center art, I used a plain piece of Crumb Cake, and stamped the Halloween Treat image in Early Espresso ink.  I lightly colored the pumpkins with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.  I SNAILd the panel directly to the card front and then adhered two strips of Halloween Night Washi Tape across the top and bottom of the panel.

I added a little bow, tied with two strands of Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Baker’s Twine from the Halloween Night Baker’s Twine combo.  I adhered it with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I repeated the Spooky Fun trio of pumpkins, stamping them in Pumpkin Pie and coloring them with the Wink brush, using Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Tangerine Tango.  I finished the stems with the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker, and added Spooky Fun faces in Basic Black Archival Ink.

And that was it!  Told ya!

My Crumb Cake Medium Envelope got pumpkins on the front…

…and on the back flap!

Et Voila!  This is a perfectly simple little card – easy to make and easy to mail!  Hope you like!
