Stampin’ Up! Endlessly Foxy Peaceful Pines

Mornin’, everybody!  Hope your week is going well, and that you’ve taken advantage of the 25% off savings for the World Card Making Day special from Stampin’ Up!

I did another quick and easy card for today.  I’ll admit that I haven’t been feeling too awfully good these past 3 or 4 days.  Apparently, the “oh, sinus infections are typically not contagious” sinus infection that Wayne came home with is…a least a little bit…contagious!  I personally think it’s a head-cold-gone-bad, but…he’s insisting that I go to the doctor.  So when you read this, I’ll be on my way to let them tell me I have a head cold.

Maybe they won’t tell me to not be such a baby! That would be pretty sucky bedside manner, huh? 😉

So, when my teeth finally quit hurting and I was able to rouse from my fugue state in the recliner on Monday, I’d already been designing a card in my head while I “watched tv”.  It had some Perfect Pines and a fun little Foxy Friends dude in it.  And that’s actually how it ended up, too!  Take a look-see:

Stamp Ink Paper had a card maker’s choice challenge this week, so I played along with it – SIP sketch #68:

sip-68-sketch

I started this one by stamping three of the trees from Peaceful Pines in Emerald Envy on some Whisper White card stock.  Then I cut them all out with their matching die from the Perfect Pines Framelits.

For the card front, I used a panel of Whisper White.  I dry-fit the trees, to figure where my Foxy Friends fox needed to be.  I inked up just the front half of him in Real Red, and stamped him onto the panel.  I added his eyeballs and nose with the image in Foxy Friends, stamping it in Basic Black Archival Ink.  Then I ran it all thru the Big Shot in my Softly Falling TIEF.

I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere two of the Peaceful Pines trees to the card front, and then popped the third on in the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment is from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set, stamped in Real Red.  Then I SNAILd the whole thing to a Real Red mat, and the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside, I added another half-a-Foxy-Friends-fox in Real Red in the corner of a Whisper White panel, and a second sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes in Real Red.

I SNAILd it on a Real Red mat and into my Emerald Envy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

The front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope got an Emerald Envy Peaceful Pines tree…

…and a Real Red Foxy Friends fox on the envelope flap.  Yep – he does have a hind end! 🙂

Et Voila!  The card turned out just how I’d pictured it in my Nyquil-induced mist.  It’s easy at this time of year to forget about the fun sets in the Annual Catalog – like Endless Birthday Wishes!  Be sure you don’t “shoehorn” stamp sets into slots, okay? Endless Birthday Wishes yielded an everyday, just sayin’ hello, card!  And, I love the Peaceful Pines stamp set with its Perfect Pines Framelits.  This is my first go with Foxy Friends – next time I need to use the matching Fox Builder Punch!  Hope you like!

Copper Foil Sheets Won’t Be Available Much Longer!

One important update from Stampin’ Up! today – in regards to Copper Foil Sheets.  This beautiful paper has been so wildly popular that it’s heavily backordered.  As a result, it’s soon going to go into “Non-Orderable” status – with no word on when they’ll return.  So, if you want to get on the backorder list – it’s currently showing it will be back in stock on 24 Oct – you need to get your order in before tomorrow, Wednesday, 5 Oct at 8:00 AM (MT)!!  The online store will show that the item is backordered – but will allow you to continue.  Here’s a link right to the Copper Foil Sheets.
