Stampin’ Up! Holly Berry Bells Christmas!

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week – which is almost practically nearly over – is going well!  Mine is…going.  That’s about all I can say about it!

Before we commence – do any of you watch Sunday Morning on CBS?  We like the stories they run.  This last Sunday, there was a story about a goose.

A Canadian goose.

Named Kyle.

Only Kyle is a she… how do they know that, do you suppose?!? Professional goose sex-er? Is that a thing?

Anywho – Kyle was found as a gosling in Lake Oswego, near Portland, OR.  She’d been abandoned by her mama and was struggling in the water – about to drown or be run over by a boat.  This guy saves her, thinking he’ll keep her and let her grow up enough to be able to make it on her own and then she’ll leave and go do goose stuff.

Only she apparently didn’t get, or read, the memo!  She thinks her “dad” is the bee’s knees.  And won’t leave.

He drives his boat up and down the lake and she flies after him and lands IN HIS BOAT!  And then rides there, enjoying the breeze.

Or, she’ll fly alongside him, kinda racing him. As part of her regular exercise routine – she’s nothing if not heart-healthy.

She always wins, getting ahead of him and then throttling back just enough to touchdown in the bow of his ski boat.

I am jealous beyond reason! 🙂

I want a goose who loves me.  I don’t know why I do, but I danged sure do.

She goes into town with him.  Crosses the street and waits while he shops.

Yea.  I’m jealous.

Danged Duck Duck….

Okay.  That’s all I’m saying about Kyle-the-Faithful.  Just makes me pine for Duck-Duck-the-Deserter. So, now we’re going to talk cards!

This week I used the new Holly Berry Happiness and the Holly Berry Builder punch, along with the Seasonal Bells and the Bell Punch.  And a few little extras, to make a Christmas card for you today.  Take a look-see:

I got my design from the RetroSketches challenge #231:

rs-231-sketch
I began the card by SNAILing a piece of Fancy Frost Specialty DSP to a Cherry Cobbler mat.  To make the bottom half of the card front, I used a piece of Presents & Pinecones DSP that I cut with the die from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits.  I SNAILd the remainder of the DSP to the Fancy Frost panel.  Then I used some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the actual die cut right above that panel and wrapped a piece of Emerald Envy 3/8″ Silky Taffeta Ribbon around the panel, concealing the “seam”.

I SNAILd the entire thing to an Emerald Envy mat, and moved on to the art.

I cut a wreath shape from Cherry Cobbler card stock with my Swirly Scribbles Framelits and adhered it with Liquid Glue to the card front.  The bells are from Seasonal Bells, stamped in Versamark on Whisper White and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I punched them out with the Bell Punch (this is bundle-able with Seasonal Bells!).  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them over the Swirly Scribbles die cut.

I stamped a couple of holly leaves from the Holly Berry Happiness set – the outline in Emerald Envy and the “fill” in Mint Macaron – on Whisper White and punched them with the Holly Builder Punch.  The berries are stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Cherry Cobbler card stock, and also punched out.  I used Liquid Glue to add them to the bells.  Finally, I tied a double-strand bow with Gold Baker’s Twine – capturing a Christmas Trinket embellishment in the bow – and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I repeated the layering of Whisper White on Cherry Cobbler and Emerald Envy card stock mats.  Then I stamped the Holly Berry Happiness images in Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron.  For the berries, I stamped the outline image in Cherry Cobbler and the fill with stamped-off-once Cherry Cobbler.

I added the pretty sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and SNAILd the panel into my Whisper White card base.  I also SNAILd the card front on and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Holly Berry Happiness holly and berries image on the front…

…and a custom envelope flap cover with more Presents & Pinecones DSP.

Et Voila!  A little of this (Christmas Stocking Thinlits), a little of that (the Seasonal Bells bundle) and some of this that or the other (the Holly Berry Happiness Bundle) – and you have a beautiful Christmas card.  Easy peasy! Hope you like! 🙂
