Stampin’ Up! Blessed with Petals, Paisleys and Posies

Good cusp-of-the-weekend, y’all!  Yes, it’s that time again – another weekend looms long and luxurious ahead of us!  If we could just keep from sliding into the “weekend time warp”, we’d be doing good, huh?  As it is, we’ll blink and you’ll be reading my Monday morning Salutations.

Maybe it’ll be Sassy…. 😉

Get it?

For my card today, I needed a quick one, cuz I was pretty much covered up on Thursday between my real job and cutting up share goodies!  So, when I find myself in that position, I like to go to a pretty DSP and kind of let it do all the work for me.  For this one, I pulled out the beautiful Copper and Night of Navy paper in the  Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP.  I also called upon the matching stamp set – Paisleys & Posies.  Take a look-see:

I based the layout for the card on this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #189:

cts-189-sketch
I started by SNAILing a piece of the copper foil paper in Petals & Paisley’s Specialty DSP to a Copper Foil mat.  I cut out a circle from the same paper, using my Circles Layering Framelits, and a Copper Foil scalloped circular mat.  I SNAILd them together and popped the matted circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment is from the Paisley’s & Posies stamp set.  I inked it up with Versamark Ink and stamped it on a strip of Very Vanilla.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  I rounded the corners with my Envelope Punch Board corner rounder.

I made a strip of Night of Navy, rounding its corners as well, as a mat for the sentiment.  Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on both ends and some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue in the middle, and adhered the sentiment banner over the middle circle.

For my embellishments, I cut two die cuts, using the Paisleys Framelits – one in Copper Foil and one in Night of Navy – and stuck it on the banner with Liquid Glue.  Over that, I added a little length of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim that I’d doubled over, using a Glue Dot and some Liquid Glue.   Then I added a Classy Designer Button with another Glue Dot.  Finally – a little bow from two lengths of Copper Metallic Thread and one of Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine, adhered with a Glue Dot.

I finished it all off with one Night of Navy Enamel Shape on the other end of the banner, and the card front was done.

On the inside, I cut the same die from the Paisleys Framelits set in the bottom corner of a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I SNAILd it to a Copper Foil Mat and adhered the die cut back inside the opening I’d made, adhering it with Liquid Glue.

I SNAILd it into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Copper Foil Paisleys Framelits die cut on the front – adhered with Liquid Glue…

…and got a custom envelope flap cover with more of the Petals & Paisleys DSP.

Et Voila!  The Stampin’ Up! DSP’s have a really good work ethic, don’t you think?  Let them run with a card, and they won’t let you down.  Especially this beautiful new Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP from the Holiday Catalog!  Pair it with a pretty sentiment and little bling and….well. Hope you like! 🙂
