Stampin’ Up! Be Jolly, By Golly Peace on Earth

Good morning – hope you all had a great three-day weekend.  Gotta love starting the week on a Tuesday!  It’s already almost Hawwmp Day! 🙂

I used a stamp set today that I hadn’t played with yet – and it made short work of this pretty card.  Be Jolly, By Golly is a multi-purpose Christmas season stamp set – with stars and ornaments and several sentiments.  I combined Peace on Earth with a little Swirly Scribbles, added some Fancy Frost Specialty DSP, and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

My design is inspired by the Can You CASE It sketch challenge #136:

The first two steps of this card are easy and peasy.  I took two different pieces of the new Fancy Frost Specialty DSP – a beautiful white-on-white embossed paper – and SNAILd them to Pool Party mats.  The card front is the star pattern and the second layer is the snowflake pattern.  Then I SNAILd the second panel to the card front, putting it at a slight angle.

The center art panel is a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I first embossed the large sentiment from Be Jolly, By Golly in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  To make the “sky”, I painted it with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush – one of the ones with most of the glitter liquid depleted.  I used it as a brush, picking up Pool Party ink from the lid of my Stampin’ Pad.

When it was completely dry, I lightly rubbed across the panel with my Embossing Buddy, stamped the church image in Versamark and then heat embossed it in Silver.  I lit up the windows and doors with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.

For my “snow”, I cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlit die, and then cut it up a little to get just a “taste” of the glitter-y paper.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it across my panel.  Then I SNAILd it to a Pool Party mat and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the bright star, I stamped the image – from Be Jolly, By Golly – in Versamark on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I sprinkled it with Heat & Stick Powder and heated it until it melted.  Then I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.  I heated it a second time to set the glitter and then fussy cut the star.  I used my stylus on the back of the star to give it just a little depth and popped it on the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used a second image from Be Jolly, By Golly on the top of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped it twice across the top in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with Heat & Stick Powder and heated it up.   Then I sprinkled it with more Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter and heat set the image.

It’s really hard to see – I’m so sorry.  Try the squinting and holding your tongue just right method!  I SNAILd the panel to a Pool Party mat and then into a Smoky Slate card base.  I SNAILd the card front on and the card was done. 🙂

On my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I stamped the same star image and heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder…

…and I added some more of the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.  I didn’t even post the picture – cuz….it just looks like a white envelope. 🙁

Et Voila!  This is a fun little stamp set – not really “little”….there’s 26 stamps in the set.  There’s lots of creative possibilities for you to explore as we go into the Christmas season.  Hope you like!
