Stampin’ Up! Glamper Adventure for the Last Blast of Summer Blog hop

Mornin’, y’all – welcome to another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop. We’re doing a Theme Hop and today celebrates the Last Blast of Summer! I know that all of us have a different idea about the right way to celebrate the end of summer, so I hope you’ll take the time to check them all out when you’re done here! 🙂

For me – I decided to use two new stamp sets in the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  Glamper Greetings and Mountain Adventure go together like beef tips and rice!  Here’s what they look like:

Glamper Greetings - Stamps-N-Lingers

Mountain Adventure - Stamps-N-Lingers
Glamper Greetings struck a cord with me when I saw it – my husband and I have long talked of buying an RV and exploring this great country.  May not be in the cards for a bit while we’ve still got the horse-kids with us – I’m not a fan of leaving them with people to watch.  But, when the time comes, mayhaps we’ll take the plunge.  There’ll be some discussion though – motorhome or 5th wheel?  Wayne’s a motorhome advocate, I prefer a 5th wheel.  More room for my card making – and that’s a non-negotiable piece! 😉

I combined the two stamp sets to create a little mountain lake-side scene that might look just like a spot we’d end up one day.  Take a look-see:

Glamper Mountain Adventure 4 - Stamps-N-Linger
I started with a plain Whisper White panel and stamped the mountain image from Mountain Adventure in Crumb Cake Ink.  It’s not quite as wide as my panel is, so I used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to extend it to the edge on both sides.  There are three sizes of fir trees in the Mountain Adventure set – large, medium and small – so I used all of them to create a forest in the mid-ground of my scene.  I used Always Artichoke (really missing my Mossy Meadow for this one!) and with the medium and small trees, I would stamp twice without re-inking – instant distance!

Glamper Mountain Adventure 3 - Stamps-N-Linger
Since this is a mountain lake-side campspot, I made a lake with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I used that Crumb Cake maker again to make some “ground” marks under each of the trees.  To finish my meadow, I used the grasses image from Glamper Greetings and scattered it all over in Garden Green ink – sometimes stamping a second time without re-inking.

Glamper Mountain Adventure 8 - Stamps-N-Linger
Then I built my RV!  I stamped the outline image in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White.  For the detail image – the horizontal lines and the lattice work – I used Pacific Point that I stamped off once.  Then I decorated it with a Crumb Cake pie in the window – and colored the pie plate Real Red (who the heck makes a pie in a trailer on vacation?!?).  I added a couple of light strands – stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and colored in Daffodil Delight.  And the garland under the window is stamped in Flirty Flamingo.

Glamper Mountain Adventure 2 - Stamps-N-Linger
I quickly fussy cut the trailer and got ready to park it in my scene.  But, every trailer-house worth the name has a flamingo!  So – I stamped the flamingo in Flirty Flamingo (was there any doubt!?) on the card front and again on a scrap piece of Whisper White.  I filled the bodies in with Pink Pirouette and then fussy cut just the body of the second flamingo and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to stick him to my trailer.  I popped the trailer on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure that the legs of the flamingo I’d stamped on the card front were visible and right under the flamingo on the trailer.

Glamper Mountain Adventure 9 - Stamps-N-Linger
To finish off my pastoral scene, I added Pear Pizzazz flowers – colored with my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.  A Daffodil Delight sun – from Glamper Greetings – and the nice little JRR Tolkien sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink were the final touches.  I SNAILd it to a Flirty Flamingo mat and the card front was done!

On the inside, I started with another Whisper White panel and stamped Glamper Greetings grasses in Garden Green and more Pear Pizzazz/Flirty Flamingo flowers.  I added a second sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink – and one more Flirty Flamingo Flamingo!

Glamper Mountain Adventure 5 - Stamps-N-Linger
I matted it on Flirty Flamingo and SNAILd it into a Dapper Denim card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Glamper Mountain Adventure 4 - Stamps-N-Linger
The Whisper White Medium Envelope was quick and easy.  I just added more grass and flowers and one Flirty Flamingo on the front…

Glamper Mountain Adventure 6 - Stamps-N-Linger
…and gave the envelope flap the same treatment!

Glamper Mountain Adventure 7 - Stamps-N-Linger
Et Voila!  I think this would be a nice way to end a summer, don’t you?  Well – maybe not in this particular trailer….if you know me you know I’ve got champagne taste – so my trailer will be about….three times longer and bigger!  Wait – this one would work as my craft-room trailer! 🙂  Anywho – this could be a retirement card, a friendship card, a “boy, do we need a vacation!” card!  Hope you like.

Be sure to consider Glamper Greetings and Mountain Adventure when the catalog goes live on 1 Sept!  That’s just around the corner, y’all! 🙂

THINK ABOUT IT!! We traveled in a 31 ft. 5th wheel for 10 years!! Followed the weather!! Really enjoyed it…….the people you meet on the road are some of the nicest people in the world!! Many of them are our dear friends to this very day……we still keep in touch & plan get-togethers. And they are from all over the US & Canada.
