Stampin’ Up! Swirly Jars of Love for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  We have a fun sketch and I’m excited to share my card with you today – as are all the ladies who put their crafty talents to the challenge!  I hope you’ll take the time to check them all out when you’re done here! 🙂

Before we get started, though – I do want to remind you that Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days start today. 🙂  You can scroll down to the bottom of this post to get all the details!

Okay – on to the card….I mentioned that we all used a fun sketch for our shares today.  This is what it looks like:

July 7 - 2016
When I saw this sketch, I kind of immediately thought that a doily would be a great element to use for the large circle.  Well – “immediately” after I was trying to figure out how big a hole to cut in the rectangle to make the small circle.  And what stamped image would fit in said small cut out circle!  After making my brain hurt for a minute, I gave up on that particular thought and went back to my doily idea.  I grabbed some Floral Boutique DSP and my go-to dies – the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  Then I added some florals from the Jar of Love and Everyday Jars Framelits.  And this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Swirly Jars of Love 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I fell back on a classic color combo here:  Night of Navy, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette.  Hard to miss with that one, heh?

To begin, I SNAILd a piece of Floral Boutique DSP to a Night of Navy mat.  Well, actually two – the card front (polka dot) and the small rectangle (stripes).  I pulled out one of the new Delicate White Doilies and used a little bit of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front – wrapping it slightly around to the back of the panel.

Swirly Jars of Love 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Using the small wreath die in the Swirl Scribbles Thinlits, I cut a circle from some Pink Pirouette card stock and adhered it with Liquid Glue to the card.

The flowers all come from Jar of Love – these are two-step flowers – and there’s two flowers on each stamp.  I made two color combinations – the first one is Flirty Flamingo for the flower centers and the second is Melon Mambo.  Both of them got Pink Pirouette flowers with the second stamped image.  Then I cut them all out with the matching die in Everyday Jars.

Swirly Jars of Love 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I made two kinds of leaves – one in Wild Wasabi and one kind in Pear Pizzazz and cut them out as well. Before I stuck them on, I made a little bee – also in Jar of Love.  I stamped him in Basic Gray Archival Ink and colored his body with my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker.  His wings got a quick brush with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush before I cut him with his matching die.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners, and is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White and punched out with the new Classic Label Punch.  With that it was time to layer everything up and adhere it to the Swirly Scribbles wreath with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Swirly Jars of Love 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I just played and played with all the elements until I liked how it looked and then stuck all the pieces down with the Liquid Glue!

Finally, I made a little bow with a length of Blushing Bride and Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I added some Pearl Basic Jewels to the flower centers and the card front was done!

Swirly Jars of Love 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I went a little old school, adding a Night of Navy matted strip of Floral Boutique DSP to a panel of Whisper White.  But then I added a few more of the same Everyday Jars floral die cuts – to which I also stuck some Pearl Basic Jewels.  Then I SNAILd it to a Night of Navy mat and into my Pink Pirouette card base.

Swirly Jars of Love 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few more of my Jar of Love flowers – in Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette – and some Pear Pizzazz leaves…

Swirly Jars of Love 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and a Floral Boutique DSP envelope flap.
