Stampin’ Up! Love You Sew Thanks Kindly

Well, as Mr. George Jones so aptly stated…

It’s finally Friday
I got my motor running for a wild weekend

It’s finally Friday

Forget the workin’ blues
And let the good times roll…

Which in my case means I’m fixin’ to roll up my sleeves and get my Big Shot running for a crafty weekend!  Oh – and do laundry! 🙂  What are your plans?  Something fun, I hope!

I’ve got a quick little card to share with you today, using a few things that are retiring at the end of the month.  The Love You Sew host stamp set – which is really one of the cutest stamp sets I’ve seen – and the Greetings Thinlits – which produce three great sentiments in a really nice size and font.  I added in a little bit of One Big Meaning (not retiring) and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Love You Sew Thanks Kindly 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I designed this card based on the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches – #235:

FMS 235 Sketch

And I pulled my colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #237:

HSS Color #237 Sketch

So – once I decided on what I was going to do, this card went together lickety-split!  I started my sentiment panel by layering up two mats – one of Pool Party and one in Calypso Coral – adhering them together with SNAIL.

For the sentiment itself, I taped over the word “Thanks” on one of the stamps in One Big Meaning and inked up “kindly” with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it lined up and stamped it on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I SNAILd the white panel to my layered mat.  Using my Greetings Thinlits (retiring) and Big Shot, I cut three of the “thanks” sentiment from Calypso Coral card stock, and adhered them all together with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I added the stacked-sentiment to my panel with Liquid Glue.

To give it a little extra sumpin-sumpin, I stuck on a couple three buttons from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack (retiring) with Mulit-Purpose Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a little bow with Basic Gray Baker’s Twine (already retired – sorry!) and stuck that on the large, Pool Party, button with another little dab of glue.

My Smoky Slate card base ended up playing more of a role in the design than my “usual” cards.  I used the Elegant Dots TIEF and ran just the front of the card thru the Big Shot.  Then I popped my completed sentiment panel onto it with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

The inside of the card started with a three-layer stack of card stock.  Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Whisper White – all SNAILd together.  To coordinate with the buttons on the front of the card, I pulled out the Love You Sew host stamp set (retiring).  I stamped the large button image in Pool Party – at full strength – and two smaller button images in Calypso Coral – which I stamped off once to fade it a little.

I SNAILd the panel into my card base, and the card was done.

The Medium Whisper White Envelope got more of the Love You Sew buttons – in Pool Party (straight) and Calypso Coral (stamped off once)…

…and I cut a liner from the Neutrals DSP stack with my Envelope Liner Framelits.  I’m pretty sure this is Smoky Slate, but it could also be Silver.  My DSP is all mixed up! 🙂

Et Voila!  Quick and easy.  And this design is really versatile – it would be easy to change up the color scheme to suit yourself!

TTFN – I’ll see you tomorrow!
