Stampin’ Up! Summer Sweetbriar Rose for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  it’s Thursday and that means it’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop Day!  We’re almost thru the week – yeah! – and the weather is gorgeous here in the deep South!  Spring in the South is the bomb-diggity.  When we get some, that is!  And we’ve got a few days where the weatherman is promising just that!

Today’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop is a color challenge:

12295452_1305624446130794_7154701242439088343_nI do hope you’ll hop thru all the ladies’ blogs today to peruse (and comment on!) all of their projects!

I pulled out another soon-to-Retire stamp – the oh-so-preety Sweetbriar Rose.  I combined it with the Hardwood Stamp, and a little dab of Summer Silhouettes (also Retiring!).  My sentiments are from Greatest Greetings and the soon-to-be-available Floral Affection stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started with a panel of Crumb Cake card stock – onto which I heat embossed the image from Sweetbriar Rose.  I inked the stamp with Versamark Ink, stamped the image and sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder (2016-2017 Annual Catalog).

I repeated the same heat embossing process on a piece of Rose Red card stock.

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I fussy cut the Copper Embossed Rose Red roses.  To make the petals – I cut in towards the center of each flower.  I colored the flowers by picking up Rose Red ink pad lid with my Clear Wink of Stella.  I first colored the entire flower, and then I went back over the areas of the flowers, where there would be “shadows”, with more Rose Red ink.

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I used the same technique on the leaves, using Garden Green Ink.

The sentiment is from Floral Affection – a brand new stamp set that you’ll be able to get on 1 June – and is also heat embossed in Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Since this is a small and detailed image, I made sure to use my Embossing Buddy on the card stock before I stamped the Versamark.

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I tore the edges of the panel, and lightly sponged it with more Crumb Cake.  For the card front, I stamped the Hardwood image in Crumb Cake ink on a second piece of Crumb Cake card stock, and then sponged its edges with more of the same ink color.

I popped the flower-embossed panel onto the Hardwood stamped panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The last thing to do was adhere the flowers.  I lightly rolled the petals with a Bone Folder – kind of individually shaping each petal to give a more realistic look.  I used a combination of SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals – again to make them have a little life.  And that was it for the card front.

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
For the inside – I repeated the Hardwood in Crumb Cake on a Crumb Cake mat, sponging the edges.  Over the top, I SNAILd a second piece of Crumb Cake, with the edges torn and sponged.  I used a sentiment from Greatest Greetings in Rose Red – that I’d stamped off once before stamping.  Over that, in stamped-off-TWICE Garden Green – I added a cute little image from Summer Silhouettes.  It’s two images – the stem first and then the little “flowers”.

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
For the Crumb Cake Medium Envelope, I repeated the Summer Silhouettes flower in stamped-off-twice Garden Green (and I got it on the right side this time! 😉 )…

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and then I used a flower-dy piece of Neutrals DSP and my Envelope Liner Framelits to make a liner.  I toyed with Rose Red or Garden Green for the liner – but they were too….jarring in the envelope.  At least they were for me! 🙂

Sweetbriar Rose Mother's Day 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Rose Red – Crumb Cake – Garden Green.  Showcasing an oh-so-pretty floral image, all gussied up for Mother’s Day!  Hope you like.
