Happy Saturday morning, y’all! I hope that you’ve got nice weather (warm if that’s what you like or cold and snowy if that’s what floats you!) for your weekend. It’s looking like a gorgeous one here in Atlanta!
Today’s project combines a couple of different toys in my stash. Flowering Fields is a beautiful stamp set from Sale-A-Bration, and I’ve added a die-cut flower from the Botanical Builder and then I rounded it all out with sentiments from Cottage Greetings (Annual Catalog)! Take a look-see:
My layout was inspired by the TGIF Challenge #43 – head over and check out all the projects when you’re done here, okay?
And my color scheme comes from The Paper Players challenge #282:
I started by cutting my panels of Shimmery White card stock for the front of the card. I inked up my newest background stamp – Watercolor Wash – with Tangerine Tango. I stamped it off once on my Grid Paper, and then stamped it on the larger panel. Without re-inking, I stamped the smaller panel. Then I used a Sponge Dauber and sponged the edges of both panels with more Tangerine Tango. Finally, I used my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker and made dots all around the edges.
I SNAILd both panels to their respective mats of Daffodil Delight card stock. Then I wrapped a length of the new Pool Party 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon around the large panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.
On the smaller panel, I stamped a couple of the flowers from the Flowering Fields set in Mossy Meadow and I colored everything in with my Tangerine Tango marker. Then I popped the panel over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my “cake” was ready to decorate! 🙂
I pulled out the Botanical Builder framelits set and cut a large 2-piece flower from some Pool Party card stock, as well as a couple of “insides” in Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. I also took that opportunity to cut four small Daffodil Delight flowers.
I decorated the flower parts by adding Tangerine Tango dots around the petals of the large flower and on the small Pool Party flower center. The Daffodil Delight flower center got a little sponge of Tangerine Tango. I adhered the flowers to the card with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue – and added a Pearl Basic Jewel to each flower.
The sentiment is a piece of Shimmery White card stock, painted with Daffodil Delight ink (using my designated “watercoloring” Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush) and then stamped with a Cottage Greetings sentiment in Tangerine Tango ink. I trimmed the end as a banner and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it under the flower on the card front. Just for ducks, I added a tiny seed Pearl Basic Jewel to the banner.
On the inside, I took another panel of Shimmery White card stock, and stamped it with the Watercolor Wash stamp. I inked the stamp with Tangerine Tango and stamped it off twice before I stamped the card stock. Then I added the same sponging and dots treatment that I used on the card front.
Finally, I inked up the Cottage Greetings sentiment in Tangerine Tango and stamped it in the center of the panel. I SNAILd it onto a Daffodil Delight mat and then into my Pool Party card base. And the card was done!
The Medium Whisper White Envelope got some decoration with more Mossy Meadow flowers from Flowering Fields. I colored them in with my Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Pool Party Stampin’ Write Markers….
….and an inner liner from a piece of Pool Party paper from the Subtles Backgrounds DSP Stack, cut with the Envelope Liner Framelits.
Et Voila! A bright, colorful card to let someone know they’ve touched your life and been amazing! Hope that you liked it and will maybe make one yourself! 😉
Have a great Saturday and I’ll see you again tomorrow.
