Stampin’ Up! Grateful Bunch Thanks for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2

Good morning, y’all – it’s Thursday and that means it’s Happy Stamper Blog Hop Day!  Whether you came from Shelagh’s blog or direct – I hope that you’ll make your way thru all the Blog Hoppin’ Ladies today!

We worked a color challenge this week – one that encompasses colors smack dab in the middle of my wheelhouse!  Here’s the deal-y-o:

Uhm – yea!  My colors, for sure!

So, since I was already in my comfort zone, I just let myself roll with it, and used an Occasions catalog set that has absolutely become one of my favorite favorite sets!!  The Grateful Bunch bundle – in which I got the Grateful Bunch stamp set and the matching Blossom Bunch Punch.  Now, if you’ve been following along, you know I made the mistake of not buying the bundle from the git-go!  So, I had to buy the punch after the fact – a purchase I’m really happy with!  If you’ve not gotten the bundle – get it.  If you did the same as I did – thinking you wouldn’t want/need the punch! – check the Weekly Deals.  The Blossom Bunch Punch is there! 🙂

I combined them with some Wildflower Fields DSP – from the Sale-a-Bration Flyer, and here’s what I came up with this week.  Take a look-see:

Grateful Bunch Thanks 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

So, to get started, I SNAILd a piece of the SAB Wildflower Fields DSP to a panel of Blackberry Bliss card stock, to form the card front.  For the center, focal, panel, I used some Canson 90lb cold-pressed watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment from Grateful Bunch in Blackberry Bliss.  Then stamped the fun dotted leaves and stem image in Old Olive, kind of surrounding the sentiment.

For the art piece, I first stamped the large sunflower image in Early Espresso, and then colored it in with Crushed Curry, using the Blender Pen.  Now, the Early Espresso ran the tiniest bit, but I knew it would, and I wanted that effect to gently darken the center of the flower.  Once it was all dry, I painted over it with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

To finish my “cake”, I SNAILd the watercolor paper panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat, and then SNAILd that to the card front.

I stamped multiple images of the smaller flowers – a single stamp holds 3 flowers and lines up perfectly with the Blossom Bunch Punch flowers – in Crushed Curry on one of the Crushed Curry images in the Wildflower Fields DSP.  Then I punched them all out and colored each flower.  To do that, I used my older Clear Wink of Stella (which I’ve “refreshed” once by adding a little water to the barrel – the result is just the tiniest bit of shine!), to pick up Crushed Curry ink from the top of the ink pad.  I used the Gold Wink of Stella to gently darken the center of each of the flowers – adds some depth and life to them, I think!

I cut a few Old Olive leaves from the Wildflower Fields paper using the Botanical Builder Framelits.  And I was ready to frost my waiting cake…

…After doing a bunch of dry-fitting, of course!  That’s my bestest tip for you these days.  When you’re doing a bunch of embellishing – do a bunch of dry-fitting (arranging without adhering) first!  You’ll come out ahead in the end, I promise!

I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and laid the leaves down in each corner first.  I used more of the Liquid Glue for the preponderance of the flowers – just adding some Stampin’ Dimensionals to a few medium and small flowers.  The end result is a nice, 3-d wildflower cluster surrounding the stamped images.

To finish it off, I added a Pearl Basic Jewel to each flower and set the card front aside!

The inside is simple.  On a second panel of Canson watercolor paper, I stamped the corresponding Grateful Bunch sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and surrounded it with a couple of Old Olive leaves/stems.

(sorry for the crookedy photo!)

Then I SNAILd it onto a Blackberry Bliss mat and stuck it into my Crushed Curry card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For the Whisper White Medium Envelope, I stamped the large Grateful Bunch flower image in Early Espresso and colored it in Crushed Curry.  This time I used the Clear Wink brush to pick up the color.  And then I gave it one more Old Olive dotted leaves/stem…

…and lined it with the matching Wildflower Fields DSP, cut with my Envelope Liner Framelits.

Et Voila!  This Grateful Bunch bundle is totally awesome and I hope you totally love this resulting card as much as I do.

LOL – see what I did there?? 🙂

If you like what the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set and Blossom Bunch Punch can do – don’t miss the chance this week to snag the punch at 25% off!

psst – let me help with the math!  If you have the stamp set, but not the punch…then the Weekly Deal is for sure the way to go (money-wise).  But, if you don’t have either one, then the bundle ($33.00) is still cheaper – even with the Weekly Deal!

You’re welcome.
