Stampin’ Up! Six Sayings Delicate Ornaments and…..is that Blog Candy?!?

Today’s card is a quick and easy, Clean and Simple card for Christmas, using the super fun Six Sayings Host set and the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits dies.  I just love the Six Sayings set – not only are the sentiments great, but the fonts are all just beautiful!  Sure is a good reason to host a workshop so that you can get it for yourself….  just sayin’! 😉

Take a look-see:

Six Sayings 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Oh – you’re wondering about the Blog Candy teaser in the title?!? Don’t blame you a bit….read on and you’ll see what’s on the table!

This card was inspired by the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #145…..after you leave your comment to get entered for the blog candy (there’s a little foreshadowing for you!), please be sure to head over and check out everyone’s contributions, okay?

CTS 145 Sketch

I leaned heavily on my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for this card – and on my roll of scotch tape!  I taped off the second half of the sentiment and stamped the “Merry Christmas” onto my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig clear sheet.  I stamped the image 3 times – taping, inking, removing tape, stamping, repeating….in Real Red on a Whisper White Note Card.  Then I cleaned off the stamp and did one image in Garden Green.  I finished off the artwork by doing the 5th image in Real Red.  And that was it!  Hardest part was remembering to take the tape off the stamp before stamping each image!! 😉

Six Sayings 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The focal point is the lovely Delicate Ornaments Thinlit die, cut from a piece of Red Glimmer Paper.  I didn’t do a background circle for the ornament, because I kind of liked being able to see the sentiment behind it!  I cut the little hanger doohickey from a piece of Gold Foil – there’s a little tiny die for that in the Delicate Ornament dies.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the ornament.  Then I ran a length of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon thru the doohickey, and secured it together with a little dab o’ glue.

Six Sayings 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I used the Liquid Glue to adhere the ornament and the ribbon to the card front and that was that!  Very simple and clean.

For the inside, I repeated the Six Sayings sentiment  – but I used the entire thing.  I stamped it with Versamark and then sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Six Sayings 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I added a quick liner from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack – cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelits.

Six Sayings 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  Easy.  Peasy.  Done! 🙂

Beautiful card, as always, Mary! I have a stamp-a-ma-jig, and I should use it more often… I know what you mean about remembering to remove the tape before stamping! :-). Stamp sets on sale… Oh, my! Probably the “Joyful Season” set… Love the red Cardinal for Christmas, and other color birds for year round… Versatile set that I can use for years. Thanks for the chance to enter for your generous blog candy package. I hope your show today exceeds your expectations… Wish I lived close enough to attend. Looking forward to the pictures.

  2. Awesome card Mary! I’ve been looking at that sketch and trying to figure out what to do with it…love your idea with the ornament! 🙂 As far as the stamp set that I want…well, I think that I may have a few too many already. But I can always add one or two more, so I’m going with the Project Life Hello December and Seasonal Snapshots.

    • Did you say “too many” and “stamps” in the same breath?!?! No way. It’s an oxymoron! I’ll have to take a look at those two sets! 🙂

  3. Kimberly Ward
