Stampin’ Up! Home for Christmas brings Lots of Joy. A very versatile pair!

Good Wednesday morning!  Hope that you’ve placed your Holiday Catalog orders and are waiting anxiously by the mailbox!  Mr. Postman – bring me some toys!  If you haven’t – well….you know what to do. 🙂

I went back to Lots of Joy and the Home for Christmas DSP – to show you how one DSP can look a lot of different ways.  Just in case you were confused by that!  Take a look-see:

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 1

No – it’s not crooked.  You’re looking at it all crookedy.  Like the black lab in my card from a few days ago!!  Take a look at him and you’ll see what you’re doing.  Then stop it.

I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch – which was a Tall and Skinny sketch.  Kind of fun – makes you think outside the box a little.  It was number 413 – be sure to go over there when you’re done here and see what other Tall and Skinny ideas everyone came up with!

MM 413 sketch

And – the design ALSO worked for the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week over at The Paper Players.  PP#260  – I went straight down the middle (Circle/Embossing/Mint Macaron):

Paper Players 260 sketch

I started my card by running a piece of Mint Macaron card stock (thankfully it WAS a tall and skinny day – I only found a little bit of Mint Macaron left in my stash – so I added it to my order this morning!) thru the Big Shot in the Softly Falling TIEF.  I hope you guys got that one on your list today!

The art piece is from the Home for Christmas DSP – I cut it so that I had two Santa’s in the focal area – and as a bonus got one Jolly St. Nick peeking in from his fireplace perch on the side!  Perfect!

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 3

I SNAILd that piece of the DSP to a Very Vanilla mat and then SNAILd THAT to my embossed Mint Macaron card front.  I wrapped a length of Real Red Cotton Ribbon around and secured it to the back with tape.  Then I popped the whole shootin’ match onto my Very Vanilla tall and skinny card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

For the round elements, I pulled out some of the new Snowflake Elements.  They just seemed right for the job – but….I wanted some color and sparkle!  So….I smooshed the large ones into my Pool Party Ink Pad and then sprinkled them with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  If you have even a sort of juicy pad, and you don’t dilly or dally, the powder will stick to it!  When I heat embossed them, they got all purty!!  I did the exact same thing with the smaller snowflakes, only the smooshing was into my Whisper White Craft Ink pad.  Looky how purty!!

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 4

I glued the layers together first, with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then used the same glue to attach them to the card.  Note of Caution:  these beauties are just about as fragile as their real, icy counterparts.  Go easy, young Padawan!!  Or they break.  In case you hadn’t caught my oh-so-subtle hint.

The sentiment is from Lots of Joy, stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a label that I cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits (Thanks, Amy!!).  I edged the little label with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker and then slid the edge under the bottom snowflake and SNAILd it to my card.

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 2

For the inside, I hit the Lots of Joy set one more time, stamping the sentiment in Tuxedo Black – I didn’t use an additional liner on this card.  Then I stamped a bunch of Wonderland snowflakes all around, in more Pool Party Ink.  I inked – stamped – stamped – inked…..repeat until you’re happy with how it’s looking.

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 5

I love me some snowflakes, so I did it some more on my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.  And just like that….

Home for Christmas Lots of Joy 6

Et Voila!  This card went together very quickly and the Home for Christmas DSP and Softly Falling TIEF set a lovely stage for the oh-so-subtly-sparkly Snowflake Elements.

I surely do hope that you liked this card – and that these are items you’ve added to your stash!  I know it’s hard to pick – this is a really wonderful Holiday Catalog.  I feel your pain! 🙂

The rest of this week and thru the 7th of September is a great time to order!  You’ll get TWO Punkin’ Head peppermints for every $50 in retail product (not the tax and SH).  When you accumulate 8 peppermints – you’ll get to pick anything with a value up to $40 in either catalog.  And I’ll have it shipped directly to you and will pay for the shipping!  I’ll tell you what – my punkin’ head ponies would sure spend $50 of their mother’s money to get ONE peppermint, let alone TWO!! 😉  And they don’t even do any stamping.  Stomping, yes.  Stamping not so much….

TTFN!

Mary

My favorite paper collection in the holiday catalog, Mary! If you have a minute, what are the dimensions of this tall and skinny card? Thanks!

  2. Thanks, Patricia! ☺️ If you look just above the Backorder Report, you’ll see all the card cuts but it ends up being 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Fits nicely in an A2 envelope with room to cope with the embellishments!! Hope that helps! 😀

  3. That is too cute Mary! Love the Mint Macaron background and your snowflakes are awesome!! 🙂

  4. Thanks, Amy. I thought they were cute! 🙂
