So, yesterday’s share was quite bright and spring-y and featured a very busy little bee. For today, I went a little more on the quiet and elegant side of things. This was another submission for our “purple” challenge and I really love the combination of black, Sahara Sand and Rich Razzleberry. To me, the combo really screams “elegant”. Or, more likely, states it quietly and probably with an upper-end British Accent! 😉
I used the new You’ve Got This stamp set and took my inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches challenge #194. Be sure to head over to check out their blog:
Very simple and clean, huh? Well, I didn’t stray very far from the sketch. Take a look-see:
I started by mounting a piece of the new Timeless Elegance DSP onto a mat of Rich Razzleberry. If you haven’t seen this new paper stack, you need to check it out. It’s a wonderful group of patterns – many of which are just begging to be strategically colored…..
For the two art squares, I pulled out the You’ve Got This set and inked up the beautiful large flower image with Versamark Ink. And then stamped it on two Sahara Sand squares. I re-inked after each stamp – and turned the stamp each time. I wanted the flower images to be the same – and yet different, so I just changed the orientation on each one. I love the watermarked, tone-on-tone look that the Versamark Ink provides! Each art piece is mounted on its own Rich Razzleberry mat.
I used SNAIL to adhere the two art pieces to the card front. Then I stamped the full You’ve Got This flower image in Versamark Ink (AFTER rubbing the area with my Embossing Buddy to be sure that I only got embossing powder where I wanted it!) onto a piece of vellum card stock. This time, I sprinkled Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the image and heat embossed it. Then I colored the image with my Stampin’ Write Markers in Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey. I fussy cut the flower out and adhered it to the card front with some glue dots. I placed two or three under the more densely decorated parts of the flower, one under the stem down where I knew the ribbon would cover it, and one under the leaf. Right about where that Rhinestone Basic Jewel ended up! Coincidence? I think not. Well, actually, of course – it totally WAS. I could still see the glue dot, so…..had to go to my favorite accessory! 🙂
The sentiment comes from the new Circle of Spring set. I used my Rich Razzleberry marker to ink up just the word “Hello” (the stamp says “Hello, Spring) and stamped it on the bottom square. I added a strand of Crumb Cake Stitched Satin Ribbon, and adhered the layered card front to my Basic Black Card Base with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And the front was done!
For the inside, I repeated the You’ve Got This flower a couple more times with the Versamark Ink treatment on a Sahara Sand liner. I really kept it simple and I like how it turned out!
Et Voila! Done…
You’ve Got This is a really fun set to play with. Check out another design I did with it several months ago:
That hash-marked stamp is cool – and is a full-sized background stamp – which you get with all the other stamps in the set. So, it’s a really good value!

Bloody fine! Beautiful combination of colors and design…and the rose is very Downton Abbey!
Ha! Hopefully Ms Maggie would be impressed, too! Thanks!
Another stunning card Mary!! Your fussy cutting skills are amazing and I love the colors that you used. Perfect!!
I’ve discovered fussy cutting is way easier on an embossed image. Thanks for the nice words, Amy! 🙂
